"You know about the rebellion? Great. Well first we've gotta form an army, then we've gotta..."

He trailed off.

"Actually, I'm drawing a blank. That's why I'm here."

"What do you mean? You know what he did a year ago?"

He pulled back his sleeve, the same one Eva had stuck a sai through. It was some flesh, but from the forearm down was just metal grafted on.

"He didn't even have to try to make my hand..well, explode."

Vernon looked up. He closed his eyes. "Wait. I'm having a premonition - it's..."

A door fell over, and two young adults with 12-gauges waited at the main doorway. "Great! You're all here! Like we always used to say, stick together - that way you'll all die together!" The one with goggles laughed.

"And say," said a man with a strange outlandish cap, "why don't we kill the new person, and take the others hostage? It's a great plan. Not a witness at camp, I do believe."

Vernon gasped as a shot was fired. He dived in front of Evita, taking several bullets. "No!"

"It's just that I...won't allow someone to... take a life. Don't take it personally." Vernon tried to explain to Eva.

"Well I'll just have to kill you! Or I'll screw you up once and for all!"

Vernon felt pressure build up in his chest.

"No...no!" He dived out of his body, into Razputin's mentality, screaming only "FOLLOW ME!"

D'Artagan stared, blankly. Something inside him made him very sick.

Razputin would laugh, if Vernon wasn't already in his head. Razputin had been put in a trance.

"What did I say?" said Razputin, suddenly. "I told you to follow me."

"Come on guys. It's not Raz talking."

The voice went away. Razputin stared blankly again.

(LET'S JUST SAY EVERYONE IS IN.)

The world was a huge, blue mess of tracks, trails, trains and trucks. Electrified wires ran everywhere, rapid transit systems carried cargo and weaponry. "Car SV-9260 to Scram Track 8. Mineral Transit redirection commencing. Overload of plasma generators in Reactor 18." The voice said over the intercom, across the world.

"Where are we," asked Vernon.

"Why," replied a strange black and blue creature, "you're in the mental model of the Scram Track! Razputin has created a whole system of blueprints within his mind."

"Scram Track?"

"That's right! To build our weaponry. Weapons with ammunition flow straight from your mind! And with out elixir and chemicals, and our special Psitanium extracts, we'll never run out of mental power! The world will be ours!"

"Christ," said Vernon. "I'd kill you, but you're just a goon. Where's Razputin?"

"The poor kid? He's trapped in Central Tower to the east, along with all his memories. You'd better catch a ScramCart to Track 8."

Vernon heard the voice repeat, "Car SV-9260 to Scram Track 8."

"Follow SV-9260," he shouted, running to follow the massive tanker.

Vernon hopped an incoming scram cart, catching onto an un-electrified rail, jumping up to car 9260, grabbing on to the side. As he climbed on top of it, he saw a strange being. It was Razputin's father. "Are you a friend of my son?" He laughed. "I changed my mind. He can't be a psychic. And I'll kill every psychich like him!"

The car stopped.

"You won't be passing without getting through me!"

Posted

The father took the hit, laughing. "You damn PSYCHICS! I'll make sure each one of you dies - me and the four other guardians of the tower!"

He swung his fist straight at Sasha.

The father continues to laugh, and suddenly he takes them by surprise by bringing Vernon straight into the air, and slamming him onto the train, using his body to break open a hole.

"Now then...Time to keep this baby rolling!" He turned the train's speed up to breakneck, and Vernon hung on for his life.

(So much for my original plan for Vernon then.)

Vernon grabbed the evil father, when everything stopped.

"That's a wrap, Razputin. From here, they all look dead." Words reverberated all around the mind. Everything faded to black, and Vernon was thrown out of the mind. Razputin and D'Artagan suddenly disappeared, with only the silent, unsaid promise of "next time."

"Great. So now people in a crazy guy's corrupted mind are after me, and I have to live my days in fear, with an injured heart. I need somewhere to think."

He headed to the beach, and stared out at the sky.

"Just like I remembered with..."

He clutched his head, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath.

"I'm just going to the docks..." He headed to get a canoe.
