I need to make TSF commander & officer armor. ( If you make npc's and select TSF_COMMANDER_mal_02 and TSF_Officer_mal_02, those are the 2 types i need made. so this is what i am doing to make a new item.

I took a_light_01.uti and edited the properies( renamed the name to

TSF Private Armor) but i see the following and not sure what to do..

1.base item (disguise, or what?)

2. I know to make armor look different you select the following:

2b. palette Id:#

2c.model variation:#

2d.body variation:#

2e.texture varriation:#

---------------------------------------------------------

Can anyone tell me what to put in model variation or a combination to make my new item look like tsf armor?

thanks for any help.

Yes, i read that, and even followed it, but its not turning out.

i can make new armor but thats not what i want. i want to make tsf armor...

here is what i did...

what i want is (in apearance) 484 -- tsf_commander_fem_02(sp) and its a B

ok so i follow his directions and from his chart B is body variation 2 and that the base item is base clothes. but there is only basic clothing so i guess thats it. so now i have basic clothing in base item and 2 in body variation.

ok, so i have 2 fields filled out.but wait he said in texture variation it didn't matter 1-99 so i put 7 like he said. so now thats 3 spots. so i save it to override and summon it and its some other cloth basic clothes not tsf armor..

so what i can figure it has to be the model variation but im not sure where to get the model variation from, i looked in apearance, its on like 484.. nope it only goes up to 255 in the item screen. so thats not it. so i tried random numbers in the model variation and they all are prety much the same exept different styles, still nothing that even resembles tsf armor. HELP!!!

thanks :)

randydg,

You cannot do what you want to do without either using a disguise property pointing to the character you want, but this will replace the PC's head as well, or you will have to replace one of the catagories of armor with that new body model.

See, for an armor/robe/clothing to be able to be worn by our PC it has to be established in appearance.2da on one of the PC rows model fields modela through modeln, we cannot add new appearance colums so in order to give the PC a Republic Uniform you will have to replace one of the games existing entries...

If you are only going to allow your armor to be worn by Males only then you could use the Dancers Outfit (modell) or else you can use the Darth Revan (modelj), or better yet the clothing (modelb), there is also the wierd flightsuit model that wouldn't hurt to overwrite (modelk, I believe)...

You either have to alter the appearance.2da entry to point to your new body model choice, or easier is to extract the mdl and mdx of the body model and it's textures and simply rename them to match the model and texture entries you wish to replace in appearance.2da and drop them into override. ;)

I hope this helps! :D
