toms
http://www.childsplaycharity.org/ A lot of you may remember this from last year, basically it's Penny Arcade's attempt to (a)give toys and games to kids in children's hospitals to make their lives happier and (b)show that not all gamers are axe-weilding psychos. If you go to the site you can select from a number of children's hospitals (in the US, Canada and NOW UK) and you get an amazon wishlist where you can buy them a specific toy, game, dvd, or educational item and it gets delivered direct to them. I bought them a load of lego last year, and its nice to be able to donate and actually know exactly what you bought, rather than just giving money, it feels more real. Plus it gives them ammunition every time jack thompson goes on one of his rants http://www.childsplaycharity.org/ They are up to $200,000 in donations so far, but the target is $350,000 Notes: I have no connection, its a non profit deal and fully legit, it rocks. Boba Rhett
Wow, I had no idea they raised that much.
toms
Wow, I had no idea they raised that much. Over 420,000 now and going for half a million, but there is only a couple of days left. $0.5m would be quite a nice figure to wave in jack thompson's face next time he starts getting uppity! El Sitherino
Only problem is they don't give any to ICU kids, you know, the ones that need it the most. What with being stuck in crappy ass rooms all day for long periods of time.
StormHammer
...you know, the ones that need it the most... While this is a very noble cause, and it's good to see people trying to help, I'd say those that 'need it the most' (ie money or any kind of assistance) are the kids starving and dying in other countries. El Sitherino
I think you know damn well what I meant, so I'm not going to bother playing into your games.
StormHammer
I think you know damn well what I meant, so I'm not going to bother playing into your games. Playing into my games? WTF is that supposed to mean? Never mind...don't want to get this thread off-topic.
El Sitherino
Pardon me, I thought this was going to turn into another debate about "the charity I donate to is better than your charity". Please ignore my previous post.
