lukeiamyourdad
You mean Anarchy Online? Oh man, I remember the beginnings of that game. It had more bugs and problems then any other game ever made...some beta testers even saw their hard drive litteraly die on them because of it. The game is a bit boring too...just...not a lot of fun. Alegis
Well I tried AO when it first became available for free, and the repetitivity and hideous UI were a no-no (Yes all MMORPGS possess a repetitive element, yet one more subtle than another) GW is for quik SUPER-cool missions. WoW is for long ULTRA-cool missions. I can agree on that. End-game dungeons are somewhat hard-core, tries after tries with 40 people. Take both! CrudeMatter
WoW ...and for u anti-horde... tsk tsk Orcs r people too. I've played horde since the 1st Warcraft, and I barely understand why anyone would want to play Alliance. In WoW, I don't get how anyone gets labelled good or bad unless the vast majority are bad. It's not World of Peacecraft. As Always the good folks rise above and are rare. I think Orcs have better emotes anyway. ...and Allies are spoiled. Blood and Thunder!!! Samuel Dravis
There is an MMORPG out there called Runescape. STAY AWAY FROM IT AT ALL COSTS! IF YOU HAVE TO DESTROY YOUR COMPUTER TO GET AWAY FROM THE SITE, DO IT! Easy way to resist the temptation (without destroying compy): add it to your hosts file. I agree; Runescape is horrible. Try thinking of this forum as an mmorpg, it's extremely addictive, there's tons of insane npcs, if you manage to PWN someone the victory is so much sweeter (unless it results in a mod pwning you in return), who needs the ability to summon balls of fire when you can post things like this--cool huh, and most importantly IT'S FREE Man, we've tried that before, with people on the forum being able to battle it out with swords and other stuff. It was horrible and hardly anyone played it. I haven't played WoW, but I do have and play Guild Wars (IGN Risac Aylomen), so... I got both Guild Wars and WoW. Hardly played GW though as to me WoW shines on so many aspects. Lore wise definitely warcraft as it is very extensive and you do have the ability to fulfill your roleplaying needs Both games are strong in customisation. While you can change the size of the char in GW, the armor is all the same. Items never played an important role in GW. Yep, they very rarely play a major role in who wins at PvP matches. Items are definitely downplayed. This is a good thing because it means skill is the factor that wins, not time wasted farming. However in WoW the class is more important and GW focuses more on "positions", anti caster etc. In GW you can only have 8 spells in your bar, and spec points in "kind of spells".Guild Wars is very, very focussed on PvP. PvE play generally consists of being able to heal more than the AI can damage you, and they're none too smart about it. PvP, though, is very fast paced and difficult. You have the limited skills and attribute points to make those skills work (you can push maybe 3 attributes up high enough to be useful). That means that team organization, set up and communication is the top priority - you can't just start up with some people you've never talked to before and expect to get anywhere in the higher level arenas. While in WoW you have 3 major talent trees, but the classes have no 8 spell thing restrictions. You use a lot more stuff, and feel more like the class IMO while GW is mostly a "nuke 1 target" game. WoW has crowd control ('mez'), aggro management etc.Guild Wars does have a problem with spike teams (probably because 8vs8 matches are the biggest available in the top PvP arenas and it's feasible concentrate on one person at a time). Really the only thing I don't like about Guild Wars at all is that there are 6 classes but only 4 character slots. That makes me annoyed - it's just an arbitrary decision, and doesn't let me play all of the classes.
