[TSL] Grapical errors narrowed down (i hope)

hey ppl, as some of you are aware i've recently been having grapical problems with my KotOR II game. some ppl believed it was the TSL Holowan plug-in, but i havent got that installed, a few minutes a go i geared myself upto write up every mod i had installed on my computer.

 

but then, i decided to catagorgise my mods, then install them, test them, well, my first test was with .2da based files. and wat you know DAM! on the startup, my character, not Sion or Nillious but my character head was turned into a saucer!!!

 

So, firstly Heres the List of Mods installed:

Oh i found these three files ORIGINALLY in my override folder. does any have a clue? more than me obviasly.

The two gui files and the tpc arent in my override folder, even after the patch. What version of the game are you playing? (ie UK, Europe, USA etc). They could be something needed to help translate the game over to a non english language of the game.

I'm Playing the UK Version

 

@ Everyone

 

1.) i've made a back up of the override when i finished installing all the .2da based mods.

2.) with my other override installed all the other mods and then used KSE to test the Items that i was interested in.

3.) the problems i came across were :-

 

BA122 Prototype Doublesaber pearl (All)

G-Cut Crystal ( Blue / Green / Purple / red / yellow )

S-Cut Crystal (Blue / Green / Purple / red / yellow )

Blood stone focusing crystal (Blue/ Green / Purple / red / yellow )

Frost shard (aqua / Green / Purple / red / yellow )

Rocarian (Blue/ Green / Purple / red / yellow )

Zez-kai-ell doublesaber crystal

 

These were all Mercenary Armours ?!?! and i could equip them as armour though

the descripions were for Lightsabre crystals

 

The reason i put this little segment here is becoz it may only be a result of the problem i'm having.

Sounds like you have a broken baseitems.2da file. The USM crystals use new baseitem-types added to this file, which is referenced by the BaseItem fields in all the UTI template files for the crystals.

 

I'd guess that you have another mod installed (likely a mod adding armor) which also overwrites this file, which has replaced the baseitems.2da that came with USM with its own copy. Thus the crystal UTIs now reference the new baseitems added by this other mod, rather than the lines of the USM.

 

To fix this you'd have to merge the two 2DA files from the different mods. I'd start out with the USM copy of baseitems.2da since it affects so many UTI-templates, and then merge the lines of your other mod into that file. Then you'll need to edit the UTI templates that came with this other mod and update the BaseItem fields in them to point to the new line numbers in baseitems.2da for those lines you just added.
