It installed fine, but it simply won't start. All I get is a bit of nothing happening, followed by the Windows "Send error report" dialog. Since it won't tell me anything, I don't know what to do with it. Hopefully someone here knows. StarRaven Posted February 4, 2006 Author Share Posted February 4, 2006 Sorry I've not answered - I lost the game discs for a while, so didn't so much point in it. I'm not sure about backwards compatibility, but I know that DirectX works on this machine. Call of Duty 2 plays flawlessly, and it requires DirectX 9.0c. stingerhs Posted February 4, 2006 Share Posted February 4, 2006 hmm, for some reason laptops have some wierd issues when running the game. i'd try using the latest Omega Drivers. they're designed to work better than the original Forceware Drivers that you have to get from your laptop's manufacturer. you can get them here. I've been looking through their forum, but haven't anything useful, yet. I suppose I'll go over and post. Thanks for the try. I don't suppose you know where to get some drivers? nVidia doesn't seem to have any software for this card. The downloads from nVidia (all that I've tried) are incompatible with my hardware, and so refuse to install. One from Gateway that installs (the others BSOD) seems to have no effect. This stretched resolution is less than optimal. I'd've skipped nVidia if I'd known that I'd be unable to find updates. (Even before this, I found nothing.) I'd know a lot more than I do if everyone did that. Especially since it's just a few words extra. Anyways, got it working again. Apparently drivers are model specific, not just manufacturer specific - something else that's never quite been said, and so they wonder why I don't know. Back to square one, I geuss. Det. Bart Lasiter Posted February 6, 2006 Share Posted February 6, 2006 Try increasing your swapfile to 2048 MB or more. That's the only thing I can think of, as your swapfile is kind of low for 1 Gb of physical memory. Just go to Control Panel->Advanced->Performance Settings->Advanced->Virtual Memory Settings and don't forget to click 'Set' Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
