gswift
Many who pre-ordered EaW will recieve a free mouse pad with the game (I got one with mine). The mouse pad has a 3-d image on it, and it's really cool. Unfortunately, the 3-d effect confuses my optical mouse, so I won't be able to use it. It makes the mouse think it's moving in the oposite direction sometimes. Maybe I could use it if I scuff it up a little, but that seems a shame. The image is really beautiful. I'm surprised that Lucas licensed this product. My question is: Would it be a Jedi sin to let my girlfriend use it? She has an old fashioned roller mouse, and needs a new mouse pad, but she HATES Star Wars. :-( Edit: I should note that it's not really 'defective', it just doesn't work well for optical mice. gswift
The image is seriously almost nice enough to frame. That's not as bad a suggestion as you may think. I could hang it in our office, between her diplomas!!! So far it's unanimous. Don't let her have it, no matter what.

gswift
To the previous two posts: I don't have a laser mouse, so I'm not sure what that would do. The surface is faceted with tiny grooves that act as a prism. I'm guessing that the laser would do the same thing as the LED in the optical mouse, but that's just a guess. I'd love to hear from someone who has a laser mouse and has tried it out on the 3D mouse pad. Yeah, she doesn't like Star Wars, and she doesn't even know the difference between Star Wars and Star Trek. It's hard to believe that she's an educated person, but that's a little off-topic...
