Evil.Ice.Monkey
Is it possible to update the .2da files, so that you can have multiple mods using the same file, for example; apperance.2da is used in lots of mods but each mod overwrites it so you cant have two mods that use that file this might be an extremely dumb question but i thought it would be worth asking cause i want lots of mods installed but dont want to switch between. hope someone has a way to help
Jackel
If the mod comes with the TSL patcher (which can be used for K1 and K2) use that to install them. If it doesnt then you will need to update the 2da file by using Fred Tetra's Kotor Tool Found here: http://kotortool.starwarsknights.com/ To update the appearance.2da you will need to find out what changes are made to the file by each mod. Most readme's have the changes listed. If not you will have to search and find them all. If there are uti files that point to a specific line in the apperance.2da file then you may have to update them aswell to make them point at the right line if it has changed. ChAiNz.2da
Welcome to the Forums! Yes, by using Fred Tetra's KotOR Tool, you can open .2da files and check to see which lines need to be added/changed (merging). Or, hopefully, the mod's readme file included the necessary changes they made to their files (cross your fingers on that one however.. hehehe).. This tool by stoffe -mkb- may also be helpful: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=153075 However, read the thread and the instructions well. While it may merge (2) .2da's together, it won't make changes to your .uti files (if necessary)... Recently though, modders have been using stoffe's TSLPatcher program for their mod releases, which will automatically do the merging for you. However, it's best to use those mods after you have made changes to your .2da (for mods not using the installer program).... Are you wanting to merge .2da's from KotOR or TSL? and, which mods? Many of our Member's may already have an adjusted .2da they'd be willing to share (however learning how to merge the files is always suggested). EDIT: Ahh.. I see Jackel beat me to it! hehehe
