DedTheros
I'm not sure this has been brought up or not. But reading the manual under raids it states that 4 units and under can consist of a raid party. But apparantly it's really only 3. When did they change that? Guest DarthMaulUK
hmm odd. I have used 4. It could depend on the planet? Something worth looking into and reporting to Petroglyph DMUK

yodasoda2187
it has only ever let me do three, though heroes don't count as part of the three

Slocket
Playing as the Empire against the Rebel AI, I changed it from 3 back to 4. The AI is not as smart as a human, so 3 maybe fine for a MP game; but I find setting the limit to 4 against a Rebel AI makes for a much more interesting challenge. Also allow the Rebel AI retreat faster. With the Rebels being able to use a larger Raid party, forces the Empire to have to station a much larger military garrision on planets to maintain control -justifying the Rebels Hit and Run tactics to cause the Empire to waste precious resources and population cap to keep their planets in check (especially with hostile planet populations uprising to help the rebels {i.e. Kashyyk and the wild Wookies going to town}). All this data is very easy to change in the Gameconstants.xml IIRC. One important caveat, I am testing to see how well the AI will utilize the extra larger Raid limit...the AI LUA script sets the build force to attack...it may not fully understand it can use more than 3 against you. I hope Petro can release a editor to change the compiled LUA scripts. I can make *some* changes to the values, as it seems it is not compressed but in plain binary form. The script is small enough to find the hex value (raw or IEEE usually format) via trial and error. Since it is not encrypted or compressed with zlib, I believe Petro will release a scripting tool for us to use (or they would have really made it impossbile to change the scripts such as compress and encrypted in one big glob). I am not that good of a programmer, I am only mediocre with that stuff to create a tool. One modder is getting tantalizingly close though... Then we can really open up a can of whoopy for the AI; to make more of an 'interesting' challenge. Our community has the luxury to spend many man hours on changes and testing, something Petro did not have. Petro did a good job considering creating the game from scratch within two years. It is alot of work and the balance, testing and feedback, debugging is quite a daunting feat in so little time. EDIT: Ground Commanders are minor heros can go free on a Raid just like Heros. There is a limit though. That is a free Elite Infantry Squad or two on top of the stock 3 units.
