blc43519
quick and easy program says: Can run CMI from hard drive and to copy the required files to hd for you. I can't find where it will copy the required files for me and run my CMI from the hard drive. ....and whenever I run it, 'it says CMI registry keys not found. You need to reinstall CMI. The launcher will not function correctly until you restore the registry values.' So how can I install it if it doesn't even let me run it correctly? I have the cd so it's being a piece of ****. And whenever I try to click on 'run cmi from hard drive' from the launcher. It says 'unable to open key "SOFTWARE\Lucasarts Entertainment Company\Curse of Monkey Island\v1.0" for read. so basically this program and scummvm are being pieces of ****s. and scummvm will run, but when I click go to play it, it doesn't respond. I mean it seems like it's going to run when I run scummvm, but then the cd just kicks out, and the program crashes. I'm pissed off cuz it's just frustrating me that I can't make it work correctly!!! ALL I want is to run CMI on my windows xp, without any errors, and fullscreen. is that too much too ask?
Thrik
Erm, you have to run CMI from the CDs which were in your boxed purchase. The Quick and Easy CMI launcher is a seperate third-party application which you use after it is installed — it is not and has not ever been a utility for installing the game. It is also not required to run the game, and is simply to add extra functions. ScummVM is also not required to run the game, and again, should only be used be used after it is installed. You do not need to download or use any additional software to install a legitimate, legal copy of CMI on Windows XP.
Joshi
Also, since you already asked this in another of your threads, I really see no reason why you had to post this seperate thread, so I'm closing the other one.
blc43519
When I do try to install CMI from the cd on my WINDOWS XP, I get an error titled "16 bit Windows subsystem" that says: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS_DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. And I have two options which are 'close and ignore' and if I choose either one it closes anyways.

Thrik
I'm not sure if this is related, although it may well be as Grim Fandango is a LucasArts adventure game released around the same time as CMI: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=150706
