Guest Jabba The Hunt Posted July 7, 2001 Posted July 7, 2001 ok we all know that microsoft are greedy money grabbing b*stards but havnt you noticed that their servers have been really screwed recently, msn messenger is not working, i just downloaded the latest windows update and its put all my icons into 256 colors. What is going wrong with them at the moment, why are they not delivering the normal service that we have been used to. K_Kinnison Posted July 7, 2001 Posted July 7, 2001 It is really bad with the new version of Windows that is coming out. You have to register your computer specs to microsoft, so you dont get just a 30 trial. And if you upgrade your computer you would have to do it again. And sometimes it just decides to shut Windows down after 30 days becasue it does not like you. Cant wait for someone to develope a crack for that

Nute Gunray Posted July 7, 2001 Posted July 7, 2001 There's TONS of stuff than can make your desktop go to 256 color mode. Many of them have nothing to do with windows. The hardware/software saw the operating system was altered, so it kicks itself down to 256. Apparently, everyone except me has had trouble with MSN Messenger. Horray for me.

Guest Rogue 9 Posted July 9, 2001 Posted July 9, 2001 just to be nice...for dome odd reason, go to the Display Properties, Click on the Effects tab and then check the box that says "show Icons using all possible colors" if I diagnosed it wrong its not my fault you can't describe a color error using text. :-p
