Billthemailman
Ok, I'm new to this entire scene, I've retextured robes and edited there properties, and even followed Darth Dooms tutorial, so I feel I'm ready to create an NPC. The idea is to create a new NPC that I can recruit for my party later, any idea how I'd go about doing this?
RedHawke
Hello, this tutorial might be of assistance.
Billthemailman
Ok, that helped a bunch, I made a jawa npc, but how do I know where he spawns?
Billthemailman
Oh and you know how I make him a jedi?
LiquidZoo
Should be as easy as editing the utc file and giving the custom npc a jedi class.
RedHawke
Please note that the Jawa model has no Combat or Force Power animations, so in a fight he will just freeze and do nothing while he deals damage.
Billthemailman
Aww shucks, I wanted a unique looking guy, next best was Tusken, but I suppose they have no force animations either....
RedHawke
Tusken Raiders have combat animations and the PC was meant to use that appearance for the enclaive scene, so it is probably just fine. The best way to find this out is by testing. This one is easy to test too, just fire up KotOR and cheat in a set of Sand People clothing and put it on and cast some force powers. But yes the Jawa lacking animations really got to me too... see I had an idea for a Sith Lord Jawa, but alas it was not meant to be.
Billthemailman
OK I finally followed Darth's tutorial correctly and got the npc to spawn, however I applied it in my own way to start on changing Manaan into Mon Calamari. But I do have a question, is it possible to retexture a person into a Mon Calamari? Or would I have to create a whole new skin. Besides the head and skin they're pretty human looking. Any helpful tutorials you could offer would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Billthemailman
Ok, and to add to my list of troubles... Where can I find a quarren utc file? I found the script he speaks in the Taris apartments, but he doesn't seem to appear anywhere else. Is he the walrus man?
RedHawke
Bill, I have merged your new thread with your previous one as it still is basically the same topic, please keep the NPC questions to one thread. Thanks.

REDJOHNNYMIKE
Just so you know (befor the Hawke gets ya:xp: ) you can edit your last post instead of posting again (button should be on the lower right side of all your posts). It helps to add something that denotes an addition, for example.... Edit: I forgot to say blah blah blah! Edit#2: This saves space:) Edit3: I will cut him some slack, his posts are far enough apart timewise, as long as he doesn't abuse it. -RH
