JoergZ
Hi @all ! I have the following problem: I can't get the dedicated server running. It stops before the "Game Initialization". On my test-server with the same software-configuration it runs. Only the hardware is different. For better understanding here the specs: Test-Server: Intel P4 1,7 GHz Asus Mainboard 512MB RAM Windows 2003 Standard R2 JK2 dedicated Version 1.02c When starting the server, everything is o.k. as you can see here: D:\jk2_1\GameData>jk2ded +set net_port 28070 +exec server.cfg JK2MP: v1.02c win-x86 Apr 15 2002 Initialising zone memory ..... ----- FS_Startup ----- Current search path: D:\jk2_1\GameData\base\assets1.pk3 (8011 files) D:\jk2_1\GameData\base\assets0.pk3 (6674 files) D:\jk2_1\GameData/base ---------------------- 14685 files in pk3 files execing mpdefault.cfg couldn't exec jk2mpconfig.cfg couldn't exec autoexec.cfg Hunk_Clear: reset the hunk ok ...detecting CPU, found Intel Pentium IV --- Common Initialization Complete --- Winsock Initialized Opening IP socket: localhost:28070 Hostname: rootsrv01 IP: 192.168.87.15 Working directory: D:\jk2_1\GameData execing server.cfg sv_maxclients will be changed upon restarting. ------ Server Initialization ------ Server: ffa_bespin Hunk_Clear: reset the hunk ok ----- FS_Startup ----- Current search path: D:\jk2_1\GameData\base\assets1.pk3 (8011 files) D:\jk2_1\GameData\base\assets0.pk3 (6674 files) D:\jk2_1\GameData/base ---------------------- 29370 files in pk3 files Loading vm file vm/jk2mpgame.qvm. Any soloution tips ? I already have tried the following things: - Disabling Hyperthreading in the BIOS - Trying alle compatibility modes - Also tried the jk2mp.exe , but is not working too - tried also the 1.03 version of jk2ded.exe Now I have no idea anymore how I can get this running. It is quite important, because I want to get rid of my rented servers and start using the new ones. Thanks for your help. aka_mustang
Same problem here jk2Ded.exe will run fine on an AMD X2 3800+ But put it on a Xeon 2.66GHz and the window disappears as soon as a map is attempted to be loaded

acdcfanbill
I seem to remember problems with it on Xeon servers. 1.04 may have solved the issue, I don't remember, it's been 8 years
Tr!Force
I seem to remember problems with it on Xeon servers. 1.04 may have solved the issue, I don't remember, it's been 8 years im trying with 1.04 version, but is the same problem with all versions, we need a solution :/
acdcfanbill
the solution, I guess, is probably just to run servers on non-Xeon machines.
Kurgan
Did you try LucasArts/Yoda's help desk? That should be a known issue if it's true. Assuming there's no fix at a Xeon related site of course. You might try contacting them. Or did you find a solution?
