LordReserei
hya peeps, I was just wondering if anyone could help with a problem. my computer fudged and I don't know what could it was working a couple of days ago, three days to be exact. I decided to go to my play video and drink some beer (I got wasted) came back the next day, turn on, booted up 'n' went to the "safe mode" menue. when I select "run windows in safe mode" it goes to the blue screen of death, you know the blue that tells your computer fudged when I think you'd it was and said. "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME" does anyone have the fogiest clue to what this means? does this mean probably have my freakin' hard drive AGAIN!? by the way my OS is XP Pro. RevanA4
a stop address would be nice. UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME can mean number of things are wrong and yes more than likely it does mean you will need a new hard drive.

God they're NOOBISH on the blue screen other than the UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME there should be a stop address. it will say Stop address. then there will be a value after it. mimic666
I usually press "Tab" after a few seconds of start-up (brings up system info0 then it says "Press Esc to exit" then it will bring up another menu that says two different safe mode options, Last confiquration that works and start-up windows... choose "Last configuration that works"... obviously. That should work for ya.

LordReserei
well b4 it was a motherboard problem, there was a hair-line crack I managed 2 solder the circuitry and my system was working more efficiently. There wasn't even a slightest sign of my PC fudging up. I forgot to mention that when I start windows normally, the loading screen (the b4 the logon screen) come up for like 1/2 a second and then goes 2 the blue screen. its very confusing. I think it might be a problem with 1 of the .dll files in the winows directory but I'm not sure. If that is the case then I could use the windows recovery console the correct the problem by rebooting my PC with an installation disk in my CD-Rom drive. I dunno. lol
