Darth InSidious
Not necessarily. It could be that other races evolved in exactly the same form as us, and think in exactly the same way as us. All right, I'll admit it isn't the choice I'd bet on, but you can't say for certain either way, can you?
igyman
Like I said, it's not impossible, but you have to agree that it's a longshot.
Darth InSidious
I would have to say that I couldn't say whether it's a long shot or not.
Jeremia Skywalk
wow what i said will soon make my brain overboil... seriously though, in series of infinite random chances everything should happen... but how about rules of physics, are they breakable in any way? Does it mean, that there is place like heaven, and if there is, would we go there after death... darnit this is too confusing, if i were a genious maybe i could understand more of it. Totenkopf
It appears that the existance of aliens, like that of God, lies with the believer. Neither can be proven by scientific means currently at humanity's disposal. I acknowledge the possibility of both and that I can neither prove nor disprove the existance of either. And, Igyman, in the abscence of any evidence, it's impossible to assert the probability of how different or similiar such beings would be to us. The theory of evolution and that of creationism are just attempts by man to understand how he came to be. One is steeped in religion, the other in a more secularly humanist vein. Religion and science are not mutually exclusive. Even the Catholic Church recognizes the possibility of evoultion as an explanation of mankind's existance, only stating that it was possible God may have used it as a mechanism in the creation of humanity. It is really only the most militant of athiests that insists that science is somehow an end in itself and that God is impossible (often due to disillusionment or a desire to believe he is his own master). Aliens are a distinct possibility, but remain an enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in a mystery. God is also a possibility, but till I meet him, I can't be certain he exists (except as a concept).
