What's in a name?

Recommended Posts

We all know that nearly all of the Psychonauts characters have apropos names. Sasha Nein is probably so-named because he introduces you to censors, which say nothing but "no," and "nein" is the German word for "no." Bobby Zilch probably got his last name from the fact that he's a total loser, which may also explain the "00" jersey he wears, while his first name comes from a real-life bully who terrorized Tim Schafer as a kid. (I can't help wondering if the "real" Bobby had a huge afro as well...)

While browsing other MBs looking for Psychonauts fanart, I came upon a couple of other interesting name references: Edgar Teglee comes from Edgar Leeteg, who was a real-life black velvet painter, while Mikhail Bulgakov was the name of a Russian author who wrote about insane asylums.

Does anyone else know the significance of any characters' names?

...There was a topic just like this. You start a lot of duplicate topics.

And I didn't know the Edgar one.

Okay, Darth_Ave, I just searched through the older topics and couldn't find the one on names. Care to provide me with a link, please?

"Oh my God! Let's make out!"
