Krimsyn Kane
I would love to make multiple darkside transitions for my shaved exile mod: Just like Inyri Forge's PMHC02 Head Replacement: However I can't seem to get it to work. I've made the two extra transition TGA files, I've named the all accordingly: D, D1, D2, D3 and placed them in my override but they wont display as the character progress' towards the darkside. Only the initial three textures will show: neutral, dark1 and dark2. What am I doing wrong?
T7nowhere
You need to edit Heads.2da and add the extra DS transitions. TSL's Heads only use 3 textures for the DS transition while KotOR used 5.
Krimsyn Kane
ohhhhh...thanks...that sounds complicated...how do I edit Heads.2da and in what way do I edit it? I downloaded Inyri's mod to see what files were included and there wasnt any Heads.2da file in there, just the five face textures and the five portraits. Inyri
My mod overwrites an existing head, which is why the 2da file was not necessary. You'll need KotOR Tool to modify heads.2da, which you can find in there. From T7's post, I would imagine that TSL supports the extra heads even though the base game doesn't make use of them. In heads.2da you'll see several columns. The columns of interest are headtexe, headtexve, headtexvve, and headtexvvve (evil, very evil, very very evil, and very very very evil -- ingenius labeling, huh?). You should notice that three of these have the exact same texture name. To add different variations, just make your extra transitions and put label them in the 2DA file for ve and vve. vvve should already have the final transition, depending on how your textures are named. Krimsyn Kane
Awesome, thanks Inyri! I got one more question, my mod also overites an existing head, the bearded caucasian (PMHC04A) so should I still have to change the 2da?
Inyri
If it's TSL and you want the additional transitions, you should still need to change it. If you're satisfied with just the two then you don't. This is all based on what I've seen rather than what I've done, as I don't mod TSL that often, so if I'm wrong I wave all responsibility . I think that's what T7 was saying too, though. The reason is because the 2DA is pointing at the same targa for 3 of the transitions.
Krimsyn Kane
Ok cool, I'll give it a shot. Thanks for your help, T7 as well.
Princess Artemis
Just to confirm, TSL does support four DS transitions. I'm not sure if it uses them, but some PCs have more than two, and I've made four DS transitions for TSL PC mods before and they work fine. In theory, both should also support two LS transitions, but that I've never tested.
Krimsyn Kane
It worked! thanks again guys. I'm going to start working on two lightside transitions as well now that I know how.
Darth InSidious
@ Princess Artemis: IIRC, it doesn't work in TSL. Darkkender I think once told me that it works in KotOR I, but I haven't tested it myself... In any case, there are columns for it in both heads.2da and appearance.2da ...
