Hello All.

Welcome to the September Update for Legacy of War.

For the first few days of September we released Some Map Shots and Some TIE Fighter Renders.

You can see these Images here in the News Forum ;).

Alongside this we are releasing a podcast in the near future. I just need to do the final record. It should be with you later this week.

This update is just going to make a few points I further elaborate on in Podcast 1.

We have a Lot of the Maps required for the First Release now completed, we also have a lot of the units coded in, you can see the Strike Cruiser, Lancer, TIE Defender and some other TIEs below.

The Strike-class cruiser was a medium cruiser designed by the Loronar Corporation during the Galactic Civil War for the Imperial Navy as a general-purpose vessel capable of modular modifications to allow it to fit many missions profiles, yet cheap enough to be produced in large quantities.

The Lancer-class frigate was a capital ship used for anti-starfighter operations in the Imperial Navy.

The TIE/sa starfighter, known as the TIE Bomber, was a larger, less maneuverable TIE starfighter used for destroying large Rebel ships and pinpoint precision bombing.

The TIE Advanced x1 (TIE/x1) was a prototype starfighter field tested by Darth Vader at the Battle of Yavin. Many of its best design features were later incorporated into the TIE Interceptor and the TIE Avenger.

The TIE/ln starfighter, often referred to as the TIE Fighter, was the standard Imperial starfighter seen in massive numbers throughout the Galactic Civil War.

The TIE Defender was in many ways far superior to any other starfighter of the time, having the advantage against the X-wing and perhaps all other Rebel craft (even the A-wing's speed) in every respect, exceeding the X-wing's armament with its two ion cannons, and two missile launchers with an increased capacity.

The TIE/In starfighter, or TIE Interceptor, was an improved version of the TIE/ln starfighter. It was identifiable by its arrow-shaped radiator panels, as distinct from the hexagonal ones on its parent craft.

We are getting units in with leaps and Bounds. Reskinned TIE Variants are coming. You saw a few in the Last Few Updates

We still have to add the TIE Droid to that list and Also for the Chiss the NSSISS-Class Clawcraft.

We are busy working on the Legacy Editor Tools as well. We hopefully should be getting out a Public Beta Release in the near future but that is subject to change. You know how bugs pop up all the time..Sigh..

We'd Like to Welcome Eldor back into the fold. He's been at home over the summer and has had a problem with internet Access. Now he is back at College we should get the models out a lot faster.

With this I'd like to put out a call for Staff.

We are looking for Concept Artists and Modellers for work on the R4 and 5 releases. We need some staff to concept and Model the Chiss Units. So far we have the Well Known Nssiss Class Clawcraft and a Concepted Chiss StarDestroyer but we need some to concept the Maser Equipped troopers and various space units. Like the Chiss Corvette and Victory Variant seen during the Dark Nest Series.

If you are interested feel free to post any previous work here

We are also looking for someone to help our skinning department work on some of our model Backlog and an extra few hands in coding the units into the game.

Its along the lines of the faster they are skinned the faster we get the mod released. If you are interested we will also teach you how to do Engine Glows, UV Maps and then how to Export them to .alo.

Well thats it for this Update. But I just want to leave you with something that we were going to release in the Ship Pack a few weeks ago. Sorry guys but you have got a little while to wait for this now...

LoW_Dungeon-Ship_ES_thumb.jpg

Imperial dungeon ship was the term given to describe the 1,000 meter ships the Galactic Empire used to transport captured Jedi Knights during the height of the Great Jedi Purge following the Clone Wars. The original design was first used by the Mandalorians during the Mandalorian Wars, and were possibly the same as, or the basis for, Mandalorian Dreadnaughts. They were similar to the Lictor-class dungeon ship, and were possibly based off of Dreadnaught-class heavy cruisers. They were still used during the Yuuzhan Vong War by the Mandalorian Protectors.
