bugmenotnow
i have downloaded the patch, tried direct3d/opengl, tried w98 compatibility. Nothing works. The game plays so slow, eats 99% cpu, and freezes the whole computer when the "cd icon" appears after kicking the coal to the loaded cannon in the first screen. Game works better in linux under WINE, ironically. I have even considered installing windows 98 under vmware to play it, but vmware isn't good with 3d acceleration. Too bad EMI wasn't made with scumm.

bugmenotnow
Why not using WINE then? Because: -The game box said "win 98/me/2000", not linux under wine. -I need to stay under windows -Under linux it crashes randomly -Lucasarts support says the game should run in winxp (http://support.lucasarts.com/trg/xp/efmi.htm) -Grim fandango runs mostly fine (it's unsolvable on the attach chain to ship part, but is almost the end) and it's a lot older
