Purple Tentacle
I personally am not a fan of the Beatles' music, I'm sure they were innovative and probably superior to the rest of the music at the time when they were successful, however nowadays they are just living(or not, in Lennon's case) on their reputation as 'The Beatles - music pioneers etc.'. Were a band to start up now playing their kind of sounds it would flop (Imao), because music has evolved so much since their era, and their songs are just too simple. Okay granted they may once have been 'the biggest band that ever walked this planet' (quote taken from kingzjester) but for them to live on their past reputation their music would have to live up to and possibly surpass the far superior sounds of modern day music. Basically all the Beatles were was a boy band, kinda like the Westlifes of today. This whole post probably doesn't make much sense, its just a jumbled collection of my thoughts on the Beatles and their undeserved reputation. ------------------ Have you ever walked through a room But it was more like the room passed around you Like there was a leash around your neck that pulled you through
Kingzjester
Point # 1: Beatles 1 is the best selling album ever--30 ****ing years after they fell apart!!!!!! Saying that they're just a boy band is a heinous thing to say!!! They were revolutionary and they still are! They rock together with Jimi Hendrix, Jannis Joplin, and Kurt Cobaine!!! Point # 2: I'm appaled at the misspelling of "Lennon", I will hunt you down and exterminate you... Point 3#: Chicken, you like Heller? Catch 22 is in my hummbble opinion the best American novel of the 20 century!!! ------------------ -Yorick the King's Jester Backfire Killed the Sly - The Adventure Game

Natty
me is so over the whole boyband thingo. people need to get over the fact, they all sound the same and all look the same, can't there be some orgionality around somewhere? instead of trying to rip off everyone elses looks/sound/fans and so on and so on? its depressing ------------------ Victory? brief
The Beatles were the Ultimate Boy Band. Just take a look at the whole Beatlemania thing. There's nothing wrong with that. I think they had plenty of good songs, and were talented writers. But then again, that's how I approach music--I listen to the songs and lyrics, if I think they're good, I listen to them more, and focus more on the music. I don't focus as much on the people behind the music, as far as their problems are concerned--they're people, just like you and me. They have their talents, and I respect them for that, but I have my own talents (hey, did you know I can count all the way up to six? In all seriousness, I'm quite good a vocalist, even though I can't read any musical notes). To err is human, afterall. ------------------ Wear short sleeves! Support your right to bare arms!
