Gabriel Knight

Monkey Island is great, but it's no longer my favourite adventure series, in fact I like it a lot less recently. MI didn't do anything wrong... the Gabriel Knight series did something very right.

The three Gabriel Knight games ('Sins Of The Fathers' 'The Beast Within' and 'Blood Of The Sacred, Blood Of The Damned') are all totally awesome, though the first two are quite hard to find nowadays.

Just thought I'd drop a note about them to let all fellow adventurers know about what is probably the best adventure series ever... for some odd reason, GK doesn't have a high profile, but those that have played them tend to love them wink.gif Try and get them now. And campaign for GK4 smile.gif

Don't say you like Monkey Island more than a game you've never played, you can't possibly know wink.gif

Besides, the GK series is not supposed to be funny, they're very realistic and quite serious, although there are some funny one liners here and there.

I've played Gabriel Knight 'Sins of the Fathers', and I must say it's very addictive / good. But it is more serious than Monkey Island - and I still think Monkey Island beats it - just because MI is humorous smile.gif

Gabriel Knight however, is very hard game. You really need to think with your brains. And my brains... well, there is not much of 'em... aren't too good for thinking out solutions smile.gif

I'm sorry but the best game EVER! And I quote "EVER"!

Is ............ FINAL FANTASY IX

It's bloody amazing!! The story line will suck you right in. The graphics, well undescribably good, and it will keep you going for a good 80hrs then. Then do it all again. But it'll be different!!

I've nearly done it. Theres romance(I really want the hero and heroine to get together). Action(TONS!!) And well EVERYTHING!!

This game is well, not even a game it's too involving. You can't help but get hooked and wanna be in it!!

I'M HOOKED!!

Finally, another one who loves Fantasy IX! Yes, it may be that Fantasy 1-6 is better, but out of 7,8 and 9 I like 9 the most. A game that draws you into it's world and doesn't let you go until you've completed it, and still leaves you yearning for more MUST BE A GOOD GAME! That is what FF9 did for me... FF7 is good too, but it's hard to get any better than FF9, at least that's my opinion.

I've also bought Gabriel Knight 3 not so long ago, but while the game is quite good, I got annoyed by the controls. Maybe I should buy the first two games before playing this one.

I think Monkey Island games beat the crap out of most adventure games! Otherwise for now, st's Final Fantasy 9 and The Longest Journey that has captured me the most.

Never played Gabriel Knight at all.I don't think i've ever seen it in any shops,is it really THAT good??? confused.gif

For those of you who haven't got it,get The longest journey, that is one great game. And if you haven't got Grim yet,get that too,if either dissapoints anyone they need to be locked in a mental insitution.

All thre Gabriel Knights are very good, but are not often seen in shops.

The first two are quite old ('93, '96) but were successes whereas for some strange reason, GK3 ('99) which was brilliant sold very badly, as did The Longest Journey even though both were excellent.

Yes the GK series is THAT good. In my opinion they're the best adventures of all time and be a margin too.

I bought Gabriel Knight 3 two months ago, and I played the beginning, up to where you follow people and I got so bored that I haven't played it since! Does it get better? Because then I'll start playing it again...

And didn't Longest Journey sell good? It is such as awesome game! If you haven't got it, but it...NOW!

Stareye: You've said it perfectly!

I completed it about 3hrs ago. I was welling up (nearly crying) when I watched the ending!

At last an FF when the hero and heroine get together! WOW!

I yearned to see the outcome as I was playing, but now i've finished it I did'nt want it to ever end.

It's made me want to make my life something more than I already am aspiring to. I'm gonna try and find, out there somewhere in the world something that will give me my adventure.

I know loads of people probably say that and oh yeah i'm gonna see the world and stuff. But NO! I WILL!

What's the point of living a normal life working everyday coming home and sleeping. NO! Thats not for me. I will find whatever it is I'm after.

(See what a little inspiration can do for ya)

Well um i'm glad I got that off my chest.
