Atris as Darth Traya

Alright. I have a very strange idea, but I think I could have it work. And since I don't have the PC (only the Xbox), I can't get it to be a mod. But I still think it would be good to try it out...so here is the idea. Restoring the cut content of Atris being Darth Traya, without actually..."restoring it". More like changing variables and such.

After all, it is cut content, and some people do see the "Jedi jihadist" as a really cool Sith Lord villian. The problem is that I fear the plot will not make much sense, but I try the hardest. So, here is how I would handle it...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

0) In the Hidden Tomb, change Kreia's apperance from the Dark model to the netural model, the model we always know her by.

1) According to Wookipedia, you could choose who would be the final boss, Atris or Kreia, based on a desicion. Of course, no one knows that desicion. But I really love the Handmaiden vs. Atris cutscene that you get when you are Male, and the storyline of Atris secretly loving the Exile is compelling. So, to get Atris to be Darth Traya, you must be Female. This is justified by saying that if you are Male, Kreia decides to tell Atris to stay put. Atris loves the Exile secretly, and Kreia knows that, and used that against her, to make the Exile stronger. If The Exile is female, Atris really does hate The Exile, and has feelings of jealousy. So, Kreia sends her away.

2) The cutscene where Kreia converts Atris remains the same.

3) When you are Female, you walk into the Holocron room, except you see Kreia, not Atris. I will type out a dialouge tree later (because this one is, to me, the hardest to do), but Kreia reveals that Atris has now betrayed the Jedi Order and, along with Kreia, created a new Order of Force Users, decidated to destroying the Sith and the Jedi. Kreia also reveals that she is a betrayer, and that the Force Bond is a lie. Kreia reveals that she wants to destroy the Force, and saw the Exile as a test subject, to see how one cut herself off from the Force...so that she can recreate it. Her main goal is to create an echo, bigger than the one at Malachor V, using Atris, so that the whole galaxy may be wounded, and so that the suriviors can no longer use the Force anymore.

This is all some sort of goading, to get the Exile to battle Kreia. Once Kreia is wounded, I have two possible things:

---The Exile has the chance to either Spare Kreia for redemeption, Kill Kreia, or Leave her to the Holocrons. If you spare Kreia or leave her to the Holocrons, Kreia chides the Exile for being weak...and then kills herself with a lightsaber.

---The Exile has no choice. She must kill Kreia. I prefer this later option, but the former one preseves the Player's choice in dealing with the manner.

Kreia needs to die for the final things to make sense. Also note that the entire dialouge is all Kriea lies, to goad the player to do her bidding, which is the destruction of Nihlius, Sion, and Atris. However Kreia dies, Atris taunts the player via the Holcorons, telling the Exile to come and face her in combat...otherwise Atris will send her minons to chase the Exile forever, while forming a new Order of Force Users.

Note that Kreia will be sticking with her normal, netural model. (Just like, in the regural game, Atris stuck with her normal, netural model.)

4) The Nihlius invasion of Telos and the Raverger level plays the same. However, you learn that Kreia, instead of bringing Nihilus to Telos to kill off Atris...brought Nihlius to Telos so that he can kill off you. (Kreia lies again, since Kreia wanted to destroy Nihlius, and knew you were the only one who could, so she manlipuated Nihlius to battle you). Nihlius gets killed off. If Revan is set to LS, you meet with Carth/Bastilla and then you fly off to Malachor V.

5) Cutscene plays where Sion sees Atris (now in her famous Darth outfit). Atris talks to Sion and tells him about the Exile, and how they both hate her. Atris also informs Sion that Kreia and Darth Nihlius are dead, and that the Exile will be coming for them next. She offers an alliance against a common enemy. [Atris still is the Jedi jihadist out to slaughter Jedi and Sith, and is only using Sion's forces to weaken the Exile, so that when Sion gets killed off, the Exile will be so weak that Atris will kill her. Hey, in this mod, why not have 'Atris lies' too? Of course, Sion knows that Atris is lying, but still...]

6) (only if you have TSLRP) Apperantly, in TSLRP, there is a cutscene of Darth Traya being attacked by party members, as well as the NPCs getting manlipuated by Kreia to attack each other. I thought that I could just have the mod be noncomptabile for TSLRP, but I decided on prehaps dealing with the TSLRP, and editing the dialouge. Also, since they mention Darth Traya, and not the name "Kreia", they could be left in without any real fear. If a person feels editing needs to be done, make sure what Atris say reveals what Atris feels. I can type up an alternate dialogue for Atris to say instead of Kriea...less cryptic and more "I hate you!".

Leave the NPC manlipuation cutscenes, where they actually do mention Kreia. They can act as foreshadowing for later...it seems as though Kreia is still able to manlipuate from behind the scenes. That, or maybe change it from Kreia to "Darth Traya", if one is really worried.

7) The Hanharr/Mira battle will need some editing of the discussion between Kreia and Sion...to instead be Sion and Atris. I'm guessing Atris knows of the huntress, and may refer to her as a Mandalorain hunter, and she will dismiss Mira, thinking that she will be killed by her goons. A problem that I can see rigt now is that Hanharr owes a life debt to Kreia...but, we could always assume its Kreia's manlipuation beyond the grave, and that Atris does not know of Hanharr.

8) (only if you have TSLRP) When you, The Exile, finally enters into Traya Academy, Kreia speaks something about the choice you have...should you save your companions and be weaker, or rush straight to Traya. I do not have the text of what Kreia says, but I'm guessing it may need to be changed for Atris to be speaking, and being very dismissive of The Exile, wondering if the mass murderer of Malachor V would still have mercy to save her companions.

9) The six Handmadiens that Atris has at the Telos Academcy, including Brianna, is at Malachor V. You fight (and kill) them along with the rest of the Sith. If one wish, you could just have the Handmaiden be a class of fighters, just like the Sith Maraduers and the Dark Jedi, just canon fooder that is to be slain.

10) You attack Sion. Here, we see a...problem. The dialouge tree need to be modified to remove all references of Sion hating Kreia, as well as the Exile's proposed "alliance" with Sion to get rid of Kreia. Also, Sion's love for The Exile may need to be dealt with. A suggestion would be that Sion would manitan that he is allied with Atris for a while, and that once Sion kills off The Exile, he will hunt, and kill off Atris, and then the Jedi Order is destroyed. Sion believes that the voices of Kreia in his head has been silenced, and that he has been freed. Sion also, if coaxed, admit that he loves the Exile. The Exile may want to counter that Atris is a Jedi and that she hates Sith. If the Exile is DS (or if she is LS and willing to tell lies), she could claim that they can work together to kill off Atris, and rule the Sith Order together, as equal partners who "love" each other. Of course, Sion will refuse, wanting all the power for himself, but the whole dialouge tree exist to break his will.

Also, edit out Sion's wanting to kill off The Exile so that she won't "break" under Kreia. More likely, have it that Sion is torn between having ultimate power and falling in love...In fact, have Sion laugh at Atris' strength, claiming that she is weak and easy to be slain.

11) Once Sion is slain, The Exile enters into Traya Chamber and see Atris, wearing Sith robes. Here, I take a cue from the Atris talking in the Meditiation Chamber and Atris' speech after she defeats the Handmaiden when the Exile arrives. Atris reveals that she is no longer Atris, and that she has not been Atris for quite some time. She states that it was she who brought the Exile to known galaxy, recalling her from Exile, so that she can be used as bait to lure out the Sith...which The Exile did.

She was told by Kreia to fly to Malachor V, to wait here...and that, to complete her training, she must slay you, The Exile, the cause of the corruption. If you inform her that Kreia has died, Atris will not believe you, claiming that she has been hearing messages from her. (Again, another foreshadowing, if you wish to get rid of the foreshadowing, so be it, just have Atris deny that Kreia is dead)

If one feels daring, a person can also add in Atris' boast that she used the Jedi Masters as bait to lure out Darth Nihlius. (If so, add in that Atris said that these Jedi Masters were not really Jedi Masters, because if they were, then why did Revan fall? They let the Dark Side seep into their students, and that therefore, they had to be blamed and punished...) Atris also tells that she studied Sith holocrons, and knows the techinques and methods of the Sith, using their teachings for the Light Side.

If you are tired of her boasting, then choose to battle her. Her comments before she attacks: "Your exectuion has been too long delayed, Exile." (taking a cue from the Handmadien/Atris cutscene). She battles with "your" lightsaber.

12) [maybe optional. maybe not] After defeating Atris once, with her being wounded, then you see Atris wounded. Atris is confident, claiming that she will unleash the Sith teachings upon the Exile, from which there is no mercy. "Surrender, you need not die." (Similar to what she said when you first enter into the Mediation Chamber, except with her clutching her hands). You can call for her to surrender, call for her death, or call for her redemeption. No matter what, Atris "unleashes her Sith teachings"...

The 3 floating Lightsabers.

Very underwhealming, but also serves to make Atris look...idioitc, which is the point. Atris does not fight, as she is wounded...she has her Lightsabers attack you. You dispatch them easily...

13)Once you defeat the 3 floating Lightsabers, Atris finally realizes it is hopeless. You can then quiz her about why she fell. (Again, taking this from the Mediation Chamber, after you defeat Atris.) You could choose to kill her, or to question why she fell. She also realizes that this place, Malachor V, is not for her...but for you, The Exile. She also realizes what she done was wrong, and that she has indeed been divorced from the Jedi Order for far too long. Here are two options that the modder can have:

--You then get two desicions: Let Atris go and flee Malachor V, or Kill Atris. If Atris goes and flee, she walks/run away, leaving the area bare...

--Atris' wounds are so harsh that she has no choice but to die off. Either that, or she kills herself with a lightsaber, as "penance" for her crime.

14) Atris is now dead, or has left Malachor V. But the game is not over. Still in the room, something of a hologram appears to you...a vision. Of Kreia, who is now a Force Ghost, able to appear wherever she wills, and manlipuate whoever she pleases. (I suggest Grey for the color of the vision, as Kreia is of a grey alignment.)

Here, inspiration is taken for the normal game, where you quiz Kreia, before you battle her at Malachor V and after you defeated her and the lightsabers. Kreia here reveals her true motives and reasons. She did not destroy Atris, she destroyed herself. She used the Exile so that the Exile can become strong, stronger than Kreia...as well as to lure her enemies (the Jedi Council, the Sith Lords, and Atris) out...to be killed. She selected The Exile to be her student because the Exile cut herself off from the Force and resisted its will, and that nobody, in the past or the future, can do the same thing...reminding the Exile that there is no great secret, that there is only her.

When asked, "What now?" then Kreia explains that it is of her choice...Return to exile, Leave Malachor V with the ships to search for Revan, or to await here on Traya Academcy, for the others that will arrive in time, so that a future Jedi/Sith Order be formed. She then gives the predictions for the future, for both The Exile's party members and for the future of the galaxy's planets and of Revan. She also talks of the True Sith...

When the Exile wants Kreia to stop talking, she tells her that she no longer needs Kreia, and Kreia's vision will disapper...

The game ends, either with the LS destruction of Malachor or the DS "assuming the dark throne".

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is this a good idea? A way to restore Atris as Darth Traya without messing up the storyline...that much?

We are planning to add a chance to redeem Kreia as LS Exile with enough influence in which case Atris would be the final boss. The storyline we are planning is similar but not identical with your suggestion. It is still incomplete and only available in our private forums so I will not give details at this time.

You could post your suggestions to Team Exile's forums to get other team member's opinions about this.
