Manteki Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Me and a friend have recently started playing Alliance together in MP. Due to the number of ships we put into the map is there any known way to rearm your snubfighter after expending your missile payload?
Wildstar Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 I'll ask around, but a friend hinted that there may be a trick to it, whether it involves something as simple as renaming the skirmish file to a .skm extension, or whether it's as complicated as editing the .tie file in something like AlliED. Troy Dangerfield's free SkirmED might be your best bet, however (AlliED is also available there).
Manteki Posted January 26, 2007 Author Posted January 26, 2007 Thanks, I will look into it. Which program would you suggest to use? SkirmED or AlliED
Wildstar Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I'd try SkirmED first, and if that won't give you a reload craft option, you may have to make a new mission in AlliED, rename the resulting .tie file to .skm, and load the .skm file from the Quick Skirmish screen.
Manteki Posted January 26, 2007 Author Posted January 26, 2007 Thank you for your help, will see what I can do with the program and see what I come up with.
BattleDog Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 That doesn't work. SkimEd, irrc, doesn't allow complex things like that. You need to work on the .tie file, skm files don't store that amount of data. When Crusade was running all the skin file did was set up the flightgroups so that you ended up flying the right fighter in the mission.
Manteki Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 Then what would be the best way to modify the .tie file. In notepad or some other type of program. More info on what i need to do when I open it would be greatly helpful.
Wildstar Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Manteki One thing I forgot to ask is if you put a starship on your side when creating the skirmish. IIRC, warheads can only be reloaded on starships, even in single-player.
Manteki Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 In general when I make a skirmish map I put in capitol starships. From Frigates to Mon Cals, from YT-1300s to Super Star Destoyers. I have tried in the past to get close to the hangers of the ships on my side to see if I get the message to dock like in single player but it does not come up. Granted I have only tried docking with Mon Cals in skirmish. I assumed anything else wouldn't work.
