DarthDie
Ok here I will just think out loud about OJP. Ok first shouldn't all players have melee?Last night playing with bots I ran out of ammo and so I was stuck with no weapons. Second - I agree that a hybrid merc is too powerful....but mercs need something to block jedis from spamming push(which they do...), so why not make Ysaramieli(i know I didn't spell it right) a item? I think mebbe once activated it stays on until deactivated somehow. Third - Flamethrower somehow needs to be weakened...not sure how but its too powerful and spamable. Well that's it for now ~DarthDie™
Maxstate
Hybrids can buy Absorb, but I think once someone spends an amount of points in the left section that they are not allowed to buy absorb 3.
mark2000
how about this: The more force points you spend on items, the less options you can have on specific force powers. I really dont think Im making any sense here so I just hope that you guys know what I mean.
DarthDie
I understand - and its not a bad idea, I like it.
Maxstate
I suggested that, like many other things, a while ago but there were protests against it that had to do with limitations.
razorace
That would be too complicated to impliment and it wouldn't be intuitive to users. But, I really like the idea of buying a Ysaramieli which would block all force powers to and from the players that have them. As for absorb, I think we might need to consider making it weaker since it is a general block vs other force powers. Maybe have it block at a lower Force level or just use more FP/DP. mark2000
ok...how about this one: Let the players choose a class, either Jedi or Merc. If they choose Jedi, they'll have the usual options of force powers but the force point requirements of the Items will be larger and visa versa. mark2000
darn it....>_< oh well...I'm out of ideas for this one.... the only thing left in my head is: ~the moment they add force points to any item, all their force/saber powers will be limited to level 1. razorace
I guess I don't really understand why everyone is just railing on hybrid players all the time. Exactly what are they doing that a pure jedi or pure gunner can't exploit?
UDM
I think force jump, force ab and force push are the biggest exploits of a hybrid. These are the force powers that give the biggest incentives to be a rocket launcher-toting merc. It allows you to play the game in Quake style, and it gets you killed much less often than if you use merc gadgets. A flamethrower and jetpack can't compare to force jump and force ab combined together But don't take my word for it. I'm no good at beta testing, but it's my personal pov from what I've played
Maxstate
Because pure Jedi and pure gunners have no edge over them in any way and because they remind everyone of basejka and quake3, which is nothing compared to what we want to have.
razorace
Rockets also have low ammo and a slow fire rate. As for pure Jedi/Gunners, they should have higher ranks in their equivilent skills. That's their advantage. If that's not enough, we probably need to make the differences in skill level more apprenent.
Maxstate
What kind of ranks? Score ranks?
razorace
You know, level 1 jump vs level 3 jump, etc.

I wouldn't mind old school gameplay with lightsabers, so long as its balanced I have no problems with bunny hopping in FFA. It's not like we're trying to emulate a simulation game mode like MB2 that strives for realism. Nothing's broken here so dont try to fix anything I mean yeah right, as a game mode, FFA is supposed to be realistic huh

razorace
Max, I don't get your meaning. Rank 2 does overpower rank 1 powers in particular situations, like jumping/back hits/etc. Granted, the overpower doesn't occur absolutely since that would mean that players would have to have rank 3 in anything to make it worth while. Maxstate
I'm saying that having a higher force power rank than a hybrid doesn't really mean jack squat. If the hybrid can't use the force power against you, he will just use it as a defense to leave you powerless and he'll finish you off with guns. razorace
You're still going to be able to overpower him with that skill when he's jumping or running away. Beyond that, you're going to have to rely on your mad jedi skillz like everyone else.
