I3LooD Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Hello Forum, I've recently re-installed Jedi Academy onto my computer however I have a very tempermental CD Drive which doesn't always read the CD in there. This naturally means that more often than not I can't start JA as it refuses to detect the CD. Therefore I've resorted to using a No-CD crack to allow me to play single player, bad, yes, but the only option currently available. For multiplayer however it is still a problem as using the cracked exe causes a number of errors. I know this sounds dubious and is treading on thin ice, but is there anything I can do, short of buying a new CD Drive, to let me play JA MP once more? I can provide proof that I have a legitimate copy of the game if needed. Cheers, I3LooD
acdcfanbill Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 I would say getting a new drive is your best bet. however, if you can get it to read it, try ripping your CD and then mounting that disc image with a program like deamon tools.
ensiform Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 I would actually recommend using Virtual Sheep (CloneDrive) SlySoft Virtual CloneDrive. It is as well. However their other products are not (though are very good). I call it Virtual Sheep because of the ICON.
•-BLaCKouT-• Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Mate, a new CD drive is so cheap! Really Not a writer, not a DVD drive, just a CD reader. Have a look on Ebay. About £5, tops! Bearing in mind it'll also allow you to read other CDs, it's the logical option. Ultimately, if you're happy using the no-cd crack in the interim, you've also got to be happy with SP games
