Combinding Mods

I have some mods that I downloaded and would like to use at the same time.

I am new to modding and have problems when I use too many mods. Is there a way to modify the mods to allow multipule mods with conflicting 2da files to work together, such as spells or appearances. I ask this because the game is starting to get dull and would like to expand the game some to bring back the life. Recently tried to install the Dark Apprentance mod and found out that my Carth & Bastila Aged mods conflicted with it.

Well, I'm pretty sure you only need one of any given 2da file anyway, so if that conflicts just overwrite it.

This is correct to a point. If you're sure it's only conflicting .2da entries you're dealing with, you'll just have to choose one and run with it. However, if any of the .2da files have had entries added to them, you'll probably end up killing one or more of your mods by simply overwriting it.

I've always tried to resolve conflicts on my own using KotOR Tool's .2da editor and salvaging what I can through comparisons. There may well be an easier way, but I'm stubborn :)

If you're going to be doing .2da merging, anf the mod wasn't packed using the TSL Patcher.. I would definitely suggest using stoffe's 2DA Converter/Merger Tool.

Works flawlessly for me ;)

Still, be cautioned that just merging the .2da's sometimes isn't enough. You'll still need to be aware of any .uti changes (especially with baseitems.2da) and make the appropriate changes to them referencing the new merged .2da file. :)

For more information on the tool, you may also want to look over this thread:

Hope that helps a little in your merging woes. It can be a pain sometimes, but the toolmakers here have saved me alot of heartache & headaches .. hehehe :D
