Kryptex
I've been trying to use DLGeditor for quite sometime now, but have been unable to get it started. As a result, I'm looking for an alternative DLG editor such as DLGedit. Because I've had to uninstall my copy of KOTOR, I'm looking for a DLG editor that does not require KOTOR or KOTOR II to be installed in order to work. Can anyone help me out? T7nowhere
I think Kgff would work fine, though you would need the dialog.tlk, but I think thats the only file that you need for DLGeditor also. Its been a while since I've used either though.
Alexander the Great
Maybe you can fix your existing DLG Editor problem. Can you describe it a little more?
Pavlos
I've been trying to use DLGeditor for quite sometime now, but have been unable to get it started. Because I've had to uninstall my copy of KOTOR, I'm looking for a DLG editor that does not require KOTOR or KOTOR II to be installed in order to work. Can anyone help me out? If you're opening dialogue files you've ripped from the game's chest then you will need a copy of the game's dialog.TLK to view them. By uninstalling the game, you've removed this file. The strings shown in dialogue are not actually stored as local data - they're all packed away as a dialog.TLK file, presumably to help with localisation. When tk102's editor can't find one it up and leaves, which causes you to scratch your head and wonder why it isn't working. K-GFF is ugly for dialogue editing, and without the TLK file you'll see only StrRefs (a numerical value referencing a line in the TLK file). You don't need the TLK file to write dialogues, only to edit currently existing ones, because we can store the strings as local data - functionality left over from the Neverwinter Nights modding scene. You could put in a request on tk's thread. You could ask that if DLGEditor cannot find the TLK could it just display the StrRef of a node.
Kryptex
Maybe you can fix your existing DLG Editor problem. Can you describe it a little more? I'm really not sure how I can describe it. Obviously, as I've said before, I tried running it without either KOTOR or KOTOR II installed. Though I'm sure the problem itself is with the program itself. In any case, even with the latest version of Netframe (Which is what I believe is required to run the program) I still can't get the program to run.
