Thor the Bassis
What ways do people have to lower light compile time. For instance is it better to do bounces or position clever lights with only one run through so that all points are covered. I just had a light compile lasting 20 minutes on a very basic start of a map and it was just a simple "light -fast" compile so god knows what "light -filter -super2 -bounce8" will do. acdcfanbill
with any newer version of q3map2, -fast is the best to use, if you are just gonna test something, use -faster. I find -bounce to be a waste of time generally, as I cant visually detect much difference. i also generally use -patchshadows and -samples 3 on final compiles. you can read about all the minor switches for -light here http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Q3Map2/Light
