----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A speeder approached a large silver building, known as the Jedi Temple. The Jedi Temple was a sanctuary for every single Jedi in the galaxy and Sera Tana was no exception to the rule.

But for once, she was unsure if the temple was her sanctuary anymore.

Sera had committed an unforgivable crime. She had gone to war. War was not a solution the Jedi Order recommended and if any situation got out of hand, the Order swore that they would get involved. Sera knew that this time, the Order had waited to long to interfere with the war against the Mandalorians. Only two Jedi had the right idea of fighting against the Mandalorians. Revan and his closest friend, Malak.

As Sera approached the huge wide doors of the temple, they automatically opened and she was immediately greeted by walls of white and a populated room of thousands of Jedi, younglings, students, apprentices and other authorities figures. Sera sighed. For Sera, it could be the last time she ever stepped forth in the temple.

For a long time, Sera had called the temple, home and a place of safety. If things went worse then what Sera was expecting, would those opinions of the temple be taken away from her?

“Jedi Tana!” a voice called out.

Sera turned around to see a close friend. Nauk Grelan, a Twi’lek who was one of the wisest Jedi Masters of the Order. Sera had known the Twi’lek for a very long time, but they became close friends after Sera’s master, Jorran Corral was killed in battle and Nauk’s apprentice had fallen to dark side. They found that they could talk to each other about their sorrow and since then, the two of them had always trusted in each other.

Sera watched as the Jedi Master walked over towards her and before he could address her, she decided to speak first.

“Master Grelan,” Sera began, “I know the wise masters on the Jedi Council want to see me and I don’t want to keep them waiting.”

Nauk put his hand on Sera’s shoulder and shook her slightly, trying to reassure her.

“Sera, you’re very brave coming back here,” Nauk told her, “Most Jedi would be afraid to come back here, especially after going to war.”

“Yes,” Sera agreed, “But going to fight hasn’t helped. I shouldn’t have joined Revan and Malak and I should’ve listened to the wisdom of the masters and stayed here.”

“Calm, young one,” Nauk comforted her, “Any past decision you have made has made you into the person you are now. Don’t wish you were someone else now. Go and see the Jedi Masters, I’m sure it will all work out for the best.”

Sera nodded and walked away from Nauk. She hoped he was right, for if she was going to leave, Sera would be devastated indeed.

---------------

The door opened as Sera approached the meeting room. Five of the wisest of the Order sat at their seats, waiting for her to arrive. They were all masters, Sera had known in the past. They were Vrook Lamar, Atris, Kavar, Zez-Kai Ell and Lonna Vash.

“Do you know why we have called you here?” Vrook asked immediately, a tad rude, in Sera’s opinion.

Sera sighed, hoping she didn’t sound rude too. She knew that the masters already knew why she had left, but she decided to tell them anyway. She didn’t want to look as if she was hiding something from them.

“I’ve come to answer for my crimes on Malachor V,” Sera told him, trying not to break down, because of the guilt she had kept bottled up inside for so long.

“As Revan summoned you,” Kavar began, “So have you come full circle to return to the Jedi.”

“Why did you defy us?” Zez-Kai Ell asked, straight after Kavar’s speech, “The Jedi are guardians of the peace and have been for centuries. This call to war undermines all that we have worked for.”

“Is Revan your master now?” Atris asked, “Or is it the horror you wrought at Malachor that has caused you to see the truth at last?”

Before Sera answered their questions, she thought for a while. Their questions made Sera feel guilty. It was as if she had done all the wrong things in the war. What about Revan? What about Malak? What about the other Jedi who had followed them to war? At least Sera had returned to face her crimes, instead of running away from them.

Vrook and Atris would be two of the masters who wanted Sera exiled. Kavar and Zez-Kai Ell wouldn’t be as harsh, however they were concerned, just as the other masters. Sera wasn’t sure about Lonna, for while she didn’t dislike Sera, she certainly didn’t like her.

“I realise that following Revan to war was in violation of the Jedi Code - And I broke it, knowingly defying the wishes of the Jedi Council,” Sera told them finally.

“You refuse to hear us,” Zez-Kai Ell told Sera, “You have shut us out, and so have shut yourself to the galaxy. Know that there is no turning back from this judgment. It is good you recognize this. It means you will understand why you must leave us.”

Leave them? That was a bit harsh. Sera believed that she had spoken for herself well.

“We feel that your true understanding of what happened at Malachor V will only happen in time,” Zez-Kai Ell continued, “And it cannot happen here, near the battlegrounds where you fought.”

Malachor.

“You are exiled,” Lonna told Sera, “And you are a Jedi no longer.”

“There is one last thing,” Vrook continued, “Your Lightsaber. Surrender it to us.”

Sera grabbed onto the weapon she had used all her life and activated it. It hummed to life, showing a clear blue crystal. Sera walked forward towards the centre stone and forced it through the stone. She had no idea what would happen to the Lightsaber, but she didn’t particularly care. That weapon had been a weapon of war and not of the Jedi who Sera shouldn’t have been. Sera walked off, trying to ignore the glares of the masters.

---------------

Sera walked out of the temple, ignoring everyone and just wanting to leave as soon as possible. The temple had nothing for her now and since that was now the case, there was no point in being at the temple. The Order had disowned her, for doing what she believed was right.

Sera knew one thing. She wasn’t a Jedi anymore. She was an exile. An exile of the Jedi Order. A Jedi Exile.

Very nice. Not much that I can spot at the moment for speeling and the likes (I'm part blind at the moment ... No glasses blind I mean :p)

I like reading about the KotOR events. And this one was no exception!

Great work, Topsite. Looking forward to more.

Thanks for the normal comments, Mr_BFA.

I know what you mean about not having glasses. I have to use glasses nearly all the time now and I don't like it when I can't see too.

Sera knew that this time, the Order had waited too long to interfere with the war against the Mandalorians.

I’m not one to check spelling or grammar, but I found this one very minor mistake. I’d say you’ve done a very good job of capturing the moment Topsite. I’m not a big fanfic reader, but since it was about the Exile and written by you I decide to give it a chance. You did not disappoint. I enjoyed your perspective of the event; although I saw it a little differently, I’ll say you’ve done a very good job of bringing your vision to life. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for reading mimartin. I'm glad I didn't disappoint you and thanks for pointing out the little typo. I'll correct it soon.
