Guest grannen
I don't know what GCSE is but in Sweden we have this system: First studies then you get the result. Obviously there are different systems in other contries! ------------------ and Grannen
MagnusB
Are the grades based on ONE single test?!
helly
the grades we get are based on coursework done over a two year period and a final exam taken at the end of the two years. for some subjects there is more than one exam. like languages have 4 different exams for example ------------------

We study from the start of school and start major studying at the age of 14, then take the exams when we're 16 ------------------ murta@escapemi.com My current mood is : [This message has been edited by murta (edited August 23, 2001).]
brief
Don't have those in the US, plus I am so far outta school, I don't take those tests anymore. We did have CTBS every year, till the end of high school, IIRC, as well as SATs... ------------------ This is a test of the emergency broadcast system. This is only a test. These GCSEs were apparently important but I didn't revise at all and my results were ok. My opinion on these kind of exams is that they don't show somebody's intelligence, just how much they can cram in a couple of weeks, so I decided not to bother studying (plus I was too lazy) ------------------ murta@escapemi.com My current mood is :
MagnusB
I just realized how stupid our system is. We have 9 years of school, where the only thing you really have to do is to catch the basic princips, and you're set. The 10th year, we have final exams, yet, only the last part of the semester (Is it called that? The last part is Jan.-May/June) Hehe.
Jorgito_Vaderman
I miss those times in school. I had good califications in school! Ah! those days! Where you didnt have to study until the day before the exams. I did very well with this GCSE (Scottish System) when I was there. And I also did it well in Spain . Until I came to University! Wow! I spent more hours at the university's cafe than going to classes. Everyday we went after ""classes"" (or after the cafe) to some pub near to have some beers , and then I went to Work. Conclussion: Here I am. At home. With no holidays, working somedays, and stud... I mean, waiting for the September exams. Thats the life of the university student. 2nd Conclussion: I think I wont tell you my results. You can figure them out. 3rd Conclussion: If someone of you is going to University after school, trust me: Study everyday! It wont work going to the photocopier two days before the exams, photocopy all the class-notes you dont have , and then study everything. That "trick" WONT WORK anymore. Thanx for listening to this sad story of mine. *snif* *vaderman starts crying (in a very Evil way, of course)*

Natty
I sooooooo don't miss school and I'm not used to people talking about school results in the middle of the year. That's coz everyone else's school year is from August-June or something while our school year is from Feburary-December (or in my case last year with my last year of school Feburary-October ) We call it the HSC to, well actually, Victoria, my state calls it the VCE coz we're special HSC- Highschool Certificate VCE- Victorian Certificate of Education Ummmmmmmmm my results? This is off the top of my head, so the grading could be a lil off so I'll have to check it later Media- B English- C (If I had actually tried I woulda gotten an A, but school was so boring last year I hardly tried) Studio Arts- C Materials Technology Food- B English Literature- C (same reason if I actually tried I woulda gotten an A) My exam results, I can't remember what they were, basically I did crap in the exams and that's why I don't wanna remember. I'm hopeless in exams, I remember everything, and then I get into the exam room and blaaaaaaaaah I forget everything Which is crap coz last year they changed the grading system and half of our results relied on exams Typical, sooooooo anyway my overall grade came down a fair bit coz of the new stupid grading system. ------------------ Brighty's definate better half! After all, I'm an Australian female, and he's some English snooty nosed male! But I wuv him;)
