It doesn't sound very difficult, but my talents don't lie in modelling so I've no idea whether this is feasible or not. Oh and if you edited the Short lightsaber, look at how long the hilt is... and now look at the blade... if you did try, the blade would be probably no bigger than the head of a pin.
