ganoesparan06
Hi peeps. Im posting here cos I posted on KOTORFILES but I didnt get a reply as of yet. Thought I might get a better response here? Im having a problem with my copy of KoToR2. I cant find any of the heavy explosives (Thorium Charges) used in game to blast open the heavy doors. I cant even locate it with KSE - they dont appear to be in the game at all. I installed the TSLRP fixes, Bao-Durs Charged Armour, EZ-Swoop (cos i hate the swoop races but like the money lol), and the HK Factory Mod. I suspect the Factory mod has deleted the explosives from the game. So my question is how do i restore the Thorium Charges to the game?
Lordjedi
I opened it with no mod just using TSL Cheat and warp band by Lit Ridl if that is what you are talking about PS: Didnt I see you I GF's (Filefront)
ganoesparan06
What? No im talking about the Thorium charges you use in game to blow open the big doors on Dxun and Korriban. They have dissapeared from my copy of Kotor2... I want to know how to restore them. I cant find any of them in game and I cant find them using KSE or KoToRTool to give them to my characters. 90SK
At the very worst, you could use the giveitem cheat to put the charges in your inventory. They weren't just where they usually are in the game? It's been a while so I can't remember exactly where they're found, but aren't they just somewhere inside the Sith Academy? Anyway, use KotOR Tool to locate the item uti file for the charges, and then use the giveitem cheat. That's what I'd do.
ganoesparan06
Thats my problem. They arent in game. I cant locate them using KSE. They arent there at all. I cant use give item cheat for something thats not registering as being in the game at all. It appears to be deleted. I dont know what the UTI file for the Thorium Charges is...Cant find it in KoToR Tool either. Its really frustrating. I dont know if its the TSLRP fixes thats caused it or the HK Factory mod. 90SK
I don't know what to tell you. Without a copy of KotOR II installed myself, I'm flying blind. But I can tell you that I doubt they're really gone...it's easy to add new content to the game, but improbable to take existing content away. I guess just use KotOR Tool to snoop around the mods you've installed, like the HK factory mod, and see if you can find the charges in there. ganoesparan06
Oh i know they would appear if i removed all the fixes and mods. But then id be back to having all those pain in the ass bugs that the fixes fixed; And I rather like having HK-49 in my party. :-) Hes better than G0-T0. Obviously whats happened is whatever line in the file items and/or placeables file that tells the game that theres an item called "Thorium Charges" has been deleted by something. But im not sure where that would be and how to fix it. EDIT: Ive just checked thru my override folder using KoToR Tool for the UTI Files in it. Here is the list of them bao_armor.uti d_hk47_01.uti d_hk47_04.uti d_hk47_05.uti d_hk49_01.uti d_hk49_04.uti d_hkarmor_1.uti d_hk_device_01.uti d_hk_device_02.uti d_hkinterface_01.uti d_hkinterface_02.uti d_hkshield_01.uti d_hktool_01.uti st_maidendress.uti w_hk48.uti w_hkblaste_01.uti w_hkbrifle_01.uti w_hkbrifle_02.uti As far as I can see theres nothing there that should be causing the game to not see the Thorium Charges. Nor render both KOTOR Tool and KSE blind to said item.
Lordjedi
try giveitem thorium charges sometimes cheats like that work
ganoesparan06
try giveitem thorium charges sometimes cheats like that work Trust me I tried that. It honestly appears as if something has completely removed Thorium Charges from the vanilla (unmodded) Templates.bif file... EDIT: Do the TSLRP fixes change the vanilla files? Cos im now pretty sure none of the mods ive downloaded could have done things...

ganoesparan06
Ok reinstalled now. I reinstalled the games, and then applied all my mods on top minus the TSLRP fixes. Still dont see the thorium charges; but ive not checked in game yet. EDIT: Just double checked. Akkere on Dantooine is supposed to have them - but he doesnt. So it must be one of my mods. These mods installed are: Bao Durs Charged Armour, EZ Swoop Racing, K2 Carth Armour Mod, New Handmaiden Look, Remote tells Influence mod, and the HK Factory mod. It must be a conflict caused by the HK Factory mod then.
stoffe
Trust me I tried that. It honestly appears as if something has completely removed Thorium Charges from the vanilla (unmodded) Templates.bif file... The thorium charges are not a global item, they are a module-specific item. As such the UTI file is not in the BIF files, but in the RIM files of the modules where you are given them. Since they are not global the giveitem cheat would only work if your character is in one of those modules (Khoonda Plains or the Korriban Academy) when using it. KSE only lists global items as well, not module-specific ones. The name of the UTI file in question is pl_thorium.uti.

But it doesnt explain why i cant find the thorium charges in game at all. :-( If you open 601DAN_s.rim or 702KOR_s.rim with KotorTool (or some other RIM editor), does the pl_thorium.UTI file exist there? If not you must have overwritten your module files with some modified version that has removed the template for some reason.
ganoesparan06
Yes I located them in the RIM Files per your not so subtle hint lol. They are there. So im at a loss to explain why I cant find them. Maybe im missing something...Is there a prerequisite that you have to fufill before Thorium Charges appear in game maybe? Darth Payne
Not really, no, you find one on Dantooine (the sullustan merchant has one if you kill him), another is on Korriban, inside the academy in a locker.

On Korriban you can usually find them in a locked container (that explodes if you try to bash it open). Check your override folder if you have a mil_locker.utp file there. If so the container has been overwritten by some mod you installed.
