Black Knight of Keno
The Wild West was truly a place that matched it's name precisely. After the Civil War, the main threat were bandits and the Native Americans that were in a constant conflict with the White Man not only because they built tracks for the Iron Horses, but also because they settled on areas that the Indians had lived on for hundreds of years. And even worse, the White Man killed the animals important to the Native American for their own amusement and gain, leaving the part of the animals to rot that was not worth the effort. This conflict was even more so apparent in the Great Plains, where our story begins. It is the year 1876. For months the so called 'Tenney Gang' roamed the New Mexico area, robbing banks, cattle and horses as well as killing several people while doing so. They were no more than ten men strong, but could still hold their own very well against the several groups of deputies chasing them. Eventually a bounty of $12,000 got others than deputies interested. Several bounty hunters were now on their trail as well and were in no way restricted by the morals expected from the deputies representing the law. Eventually two bounty hunters, unaware of each others, managed to track them to a medium-sized gold rush town of Laramie below the Black Hills. However, they were not prepared for what they would face when in the town. Not only were the Tenney Gang hiding in the Black Hills, a perfect hiding place that was hard to effectively search, but there was also a heated rivalry between gold miners and a range war between the local ranchers. And the town just happened to be spot in the middle of all this. It didn't help either that the mayor and sheriff of the town were as corrupt as anyone can be and they had the cunning to get the locals believe it was for their own good. Will the bounty hunters find the Tenney Gang or shall they act on the corruption? Will they be drawn into the rivalries between ranchers or miners? Who else is in town who could influence the story? That's what we're going to find out. --- Name: Age: Sex: (No jokes, please) Occupation: Appearance: --- The rules are simple. Follow the ToC and the more or less obvious guidelines of RPing; no godmoding, no powerplaying, no character control without approval etc. You can be pretty much anyone you want in the RP as long as it's realistic for the 1870's. Note that I am not tying to make this a spaghetti western but rather a revisionist western, which means that there is a much more blurred line between good and evil, Indians aren't the stereotypical savages and there is a possibility of women characters in other roles than whores. Writer
Incidentally, Writer, Jacob Wallace is the name of my character in Heroes. That a coincidence? ... a complete and total coincidence... now that you mention it, I think I'll change it... must have been a sort of... subconscious grabbing at a name that my brain remembered, but I didn't... And BKK, the image is fully intentional... not quite the picture you'd get of a bounty hunter, is it? He's small, scruffy... at first glance, you'd more likely think 'thief'... but he prefers it that way
Corinthian
I don't really mind. Heck, I probably wouldn't have noticed if I didn't have a bizarre memory for this kind of thing.
