The problem with overriding git files (was: Some really strange bugs)

Well I edited the .git file to place waypoints and now my droid teleports you wherever you want to go. However, some very strange things now happen:

The areas 'reset' themselves whenever you enter them. So, when you first enter the Taris Upper City Apartments from the Hideout, the scene with the Duros and the Sith patrol triggers. However, if you go out and then re-enter (not necessarily though warping) with my .git files in the override folder, not only does the scene restart but the whole module resets itself; the doors that were open are now closed, people don't remember talking to you and the map goes back to the original.

When I remove my .git files, however, the problems go away. So I'm 100% sure its due to that. But I don't know what the problem is, or how to fix it. Can someone help me out?

.git files are supposed to be dynamic. If you override them, they will always revert back to whatever is in your override. The only way to properly modify a .git file is to encapsulate it into a .mod and place it in your modules folder. That way will only be instantiated one time from the file, and afterwards the dynamic data will be used from your savegame.

Wow, that's really helpful. It should be added to the tutorial section ASAP.

EDIT: Wow my game really didn't like this. I put my m02ac.git into a tar_m02ac.mod file, and I placed it in the modules file, and now my game crashes when I try to enter that area. Any help?
