Bao-Dur won't join my party

So I've played KoToRII a few times now, but this is the first time he appears to be unavailable. We crash on the Telos Restoration site, Bao-Dur talks to us and offers to join us. I get the message that Bao-Dur is now a member of my party, then the party selection screen comes up. Here, Bao-Dur should be displayed and be pre-selected as a required party member. However, he is not displayed, the party selection screen allows me to select two party members, and I cannot get him into the party. I wouldn't really care, except that he's needed to break the shield walls later.

I'm positive this is due to a couple of mods I've installed. Please note, I've always had several mods/fixes installed. But right before this current game I added more. These were a few cosmetic mods that were supposed to only add additional robes and a new PC model. I've tried removing those and continuing from an earlier save but Bao-Dur is still unavailable.

I've run KSE to see if I could add him in through that. But Bao-Dur is grayed out as a selectable NPC. I've gone through the numerous flags using KSE and tried to figure out if there were a flag for "Bao-Dur joined" but do not see anything that stands out.

Sooo... rather than restart my game I'd like to ask if there is a flag I can set in KSE, or if I can use a tool to edit any of the game files to restore whatever one of these new mods broke. I'm guessing there is a specific function defined that tells Bao-Dur to join the party and sets a flag for him to be a member of my party and selectable in the party screen. I've never edited any of the game files so I don't know which ones to look at nor what to edit.

Suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Aha... finally figured out after reinstalling everything... one or both of these files "baodur.uti" and "p_baodur.utc" from the Item mod Prequel Style Robes. That seemed odd to me as this is a cosmetic mod mostly, but it does add some items. It just seem strange that this kind of mod would affect NPC actions.

I don't really need all of the robes supplied by this mod. So I don't mind leaving these two files out. But now I'm curious as to what line or lines in one or both of these files would prevent Bao-Dur from joining my party during his introduction. Because if I can, I'd like to edit them and fix them and also let the author know about this issue.

The mod is an interesting one, providing some nice looking robes. However, it does include some godlike robes that I'm not so thrilled about. Not all of the robes are like that, but several are. I'd kinda like to be able to edit the properties of these items to scale them back in power dramatically.

So for the ignorant question... How would I do that? Where is the basic tutorial for editing items?

Thank you

/edit: Okay... a little more digging around and it appears I was using an older version of the Prequel Style Robes mod. A more up to date version does not present this issue. I'd still be curious about editing utic and uti files.

.utc is the file that detrmines things such as a npc inventory when they join your party, their stats (class, abilities, skills etc), equipment etc. A .uti is an item, there is not normally a baodur.uti in the game, so it is likely to be some kind of specialised item for Bao Dur that has been made by a modder. Hope that is of help.
