Exile007
Hey Holowan, Recently I've been digging into the world of modeling, and so far I love it(key words "so far"). I have ran into one problem though. I've made a room in Max, gone through all the steps necessary to export it, and have exported it and gotten all the files in KAurora. However something has gone wrong with the walkmesh, it cuts off immediatly, even though in Kaurora it says it should go throughout the entire model. The red line is where my walkmesh cuts off. The circle is where my PC spawns. If someone could help me out here I'd greatly appreciate it.
TheProphet
Exile007, in the walkmesh, are the the areas before and after the red line separate parts? Even as entities of the same object?
Sithspecter
If you made it from two separate parts, you'll have to weld the vertexes where the two parts meet.
Exile007
Exile007, in the walkmesh, are the the areas before and after the red line separate parts? Even as entities of the same object? Nope. Well, unless extruding the floor out a bit and down to expand the area before adding the walkmesh counts. The floor is all one mesh. "If you made it from two separate parts, you'll have to weld the vertexes where the two parts meet." How do you wield the vertexes?
Sithspecter
I'm having a little trouble understanding what you did. Could you post a screenshot of the walkmesh in your 3D program? To weld the vertexes together, you'll need to add two vertexes on the main room part where the two parts meet (Along your red line, but add the vertexes to the square). Then click 'target weld', and click on one of the new vertexes, and drag the dotted line to the vertex on the hallway. This only works if they're attached. Or, if the vertexes are very close, select the new vertexes and the ones from the hallway, set the weld parameter to 50 cm, and hit weld. That should do it, but it has to be an editable mesh with both parts attached. Sorry if I was too confusing. The best thing for you to do might be simply to re-draw a line in the shape of your walkmesh, then convert to editable mesh without extruding, and lastly add the walkmesh modifier. Exile007
Screenshot of the walkmesh in max: Let me clarify something. I modeled the area in max and modified the floor as needed then made a copy of the floor and made that my walkmesh. I probably shouldn't have though . Sithspecter
The easiest thing to do now would probably just be to draw a line in the shape of the floor and convert to a mesh. I'm having the same trouble right now, except I spent a lot of time on part of a walkmesh, and now I can't add anything to it. Also, if you select all the edges on outside of your walkmesh, extrude them and set the material value to 7 (Nonwalk) you won't stick on the walls. I just discovered that recently. Ah, forgot all about the lines. Thanks SS.
