Darth Nova
hey i was just loadin up TSL and the message at the bottom talked about Taris (the planets that malak bombed in K1) and is said there was a Taris Restoration Project...you see where im going? you can use the original planet from K1 but modify it add some volunteer NPCs and maybe add a criminal doin community service on that planet and he wants revenge (quest dark side option) or you can help the restoration project manager for that sector of the planet...ummm idk do something for some goodie points and you have kreia do some of her cryptic "helping one weakens them" or "bluntly refusing service could mean refusing yourself the chance to screw over both parties and use them for your own personal use" i do realize this will take some time with the dialog (mainly the dialog) and skinning...maybe not skinning you can use the cops from the original taris as the restoration team ppl and the ppl from the taris cantinas or just the streets for some bodies in the...undercity yes id like to make the undercity an galactic crime overlords (possibly connections with the Exchange) lair so bad no one will go down there so the original ppl from K1 will still be there...but cold and possibly skeletal. could tie in wit the quest of revenge maybe you could destroy the overlord so for the endangered restoration team or see the vengeful guy and he works for the overlord and the overlord wants the restoration team offa his planet. jsut some ideas again all the work would be from dialog most everything else is done from K1
Sithspecter
Would this mod be for KotOR, or TSL? I'm not really sure from what you said which game it would be for. If you want it for TSL, you'd have to either create new areas, or use reskinned or originals. Taking the modules from KotOR is porting, and it's not discussed here. But, this mod could be done without porting, so maybe someone could take it up.
TriggerGod
If we're gonna be using existing modules, then I have some suggestions as to which ones: Upper City: Onderon Plaza skinned to appear more metallic Cantina: Guess... Under City: Nar Shaddaa docks (the module with Vogga and the Droid Warehouse) Docks: Pull a Couruscant Mod and set the docks of Nar Shaddaa as the docks, and make the first door lead to the Upper City Lower City: Dxun's first module. Darth Nova
yes whatthehell is right i wanted to take the taris from K1 and mod it into a destroyed Tari and put it on TSL, why is porting so bad though?
Sithspecter
Sorry, but you're just not allowed to do that. I won't talk about porting anymore, but I'll talk about what you can do. You can re-use and reskin a module to look like Taris. You'd be suprised what a good reskin can accomplish in a module. Or, you can model a new area, but that's really time consuming. Your best bet would be to either re-use or reskin a module. You won't have to port, and it'll make your module more original. I'd use the bombed out Onderon module for the city. If you reskinned it, it could be a very excellent mod.
Robespierre
yes whatthehell is right i wanted to take the taris from K1 and mod it into a destroyed Tari and put it on TSL, why is porting so bad though? Because its specifically prohibited in the LucasArts EULA agreement. Which you accepted when you installed the game. You'll find that there are a surprising amount of the K1 assets in K2. But there are no K1 modules in the K2 assets. None. So you can't copy the K1 modules into K2. Period.
