Ataris
I know the ropes and more about modding, but I've never been into modeling. For one, I don't even know what program to use, and now that I have Linux (and no Windows at all) it is certainly beyond me. What modeling program would work for Linux? Blender is available for Linux, but I don't think Gmax is.
Psyk0Sith
Depends what you want to model, for map objects and weapons you need a software that has md3 support. If you plan on making characters then you're restricted to max 4 (up to version 8) or XSI. You could always make a dual boot and install windows...if you are that desperate which i doubt you are . Ataris
Okay, but do you know of any software that has md3 support, or a converter of some sort? Blender can make md2... I can't dual-boot Windows, I built my computer and used Ubuntu.
M@RS
Really, I didn't know that...That would be nice if I could model for JA with Blender!
Ataris
Technically you could if you get a converter...I'm still looking for one. Someone got Gmax to work on Linux, but I don't want any stupid programs to do it. I'll just try the new Wine and see if it works.
