Modeling in Linux

Recommended Posts

I know the ropes and more about modding, but I've never been into modeling. For one, I don't even know what program to use, and now that I have Linux (and no Windows at all) it is certainly beyond me. What modeling program would work for Linux? Blender is available for Linux, but I don't think Gmax is.

Depends what you want to model, for map objects and weapons you need a software that has md3 support.

If you plan on making characters then you're restricted to max 4 (up to version 8) or XSI.

You could always make a dual boot and install windows...if you are that desperate which i doubt you are ;).

Technically you could if you get a converter...I'm still looking for one.

Someone got Gmax to work on Linux, but I don't want any stupid programs to do it. I'll just try the new Wine and see if it works.
