Wait, what?

Alright. So, right now, I'm trying to find some particular model files. Some I was already looking for. Upon a search through the KotOR tool's texture directories, I ran into a few textures. Notably, I discovered V_BlckdeRnr01.tpc, V_Hmmrhd01.tpc, V_Sfighter01.tpc, V_Rfighter01.tpc, and V_Levia01.tpc. All of these I found to be ship textures.

 

I need to use these for some .bik cutscenes, but I am unable to find the corresponding model files. Note that this is in the KotOR 2 folder in the KT, not KotOR 1 (I'll use the other models if need be [NOT PORTING]).

 

So...where precisely would I find the source models? I know that the Blockade Runner, Hammerhead, and Republic fighter all appear ingame and should be useable. I just can't find the models for any of them.

Often times, models are named similar to the textures. So, open up BIFs, Models.bif, Aurora Model (and, later, Aurora Model Extension for the mdx) and search for one that looks similar to the names of the textures.

No luck so far. There's a lot of .mdl files starting with V_, but I can't seem to find any that correspond. I've tested one Sith fighter file in KotOR 2 that seemed unfinished (only two long bars and a load of dummy-like things), and the K1 Sith fighter refused to load because of an unknown property/whatever "float"...

There is no high resolution Sith Fighter in KotOR one except the one that is part of one of the Taris module models.

 

Try stunt_sith01.

 

As for the Republic fighter, that's stunt_rebel01. The Republic Cruiser appears in K1 on the Unknown world, you can peice it together if you have the patience, or you can find it in the Peragus model in K2, only symmetry required. The blockade runner is missing in K1, trust me, it's just not there, but it is in the Onderon turret game in K2, you can just apply the Republic texture to it.

That's precisely what I was going for. What's the name of the Peragus Hammerhead, though?

Umm..., couldn't tell you at the moment. You can double click the first Peragus model in KT, and extract all the peragus modules to different folders within folder for organization, and the search for the texture. That's what I did in K1, I extracted every model to a folder, and then did a texture search.

well those textures might be cut content I know that there is loads in TSL

 

That is no cut content. It is a ported asset that Obsidian put in TSL from K1. There are all kinds of textures from K1 in TSL. Vandar, the Jedi Robes, even textures for the elderly people (TBH, I don't remember old people in either game o_O). PU just found the textures for the ships.
