Bastila Sham
Hi My character can't move after combat. The rest of the keyboard functions work, but the character I'm controlling can't move. When I click on a door, remains, or talk to an npc, the character will move to the appropriate location, but free movement stops working. If I switch to another character, most of the time they can move freely. This problem is sporadic. Quicksaving and loading will restore movement, but it just happens again at the next round of combat, breaking my sense of pwnage. This game worked fine on an older pc. The pc I'm using now uses Vista x64 with a Nvidia video card driver version 7.15.11.7516, both of which triggered a "fail" in the diagnostic. What's wrong and how can this be fixed on the pc I'm using? TheExile
Um... to many mods? Or mod conflict?
Bastila Sham
New installation, no mods at all.
Christos K
Hmm well I am dont think Vista causes issues like that . You got the 1.03 patch. I have experienced this a couple times too only that is normally because of mods or other programs running. Do you have movement on for Combat (There is an option that can switch this on and off) If you do try switching it on and off and see if that helps you. And since it is a clean install with no mods and nothing else works just reinstall and keep your saves. Make sure you install 1.03 patch. (Since you have no mods this wont be a problem get back into the game quickly.)

Bastila Sham
Thanks for the responses, The game is being run with me as admin and the issue with movement still happens. Tried starting the game from the game's exe instead of the launcher and the problem still happens. The game option is set so I can move during combat. Another thing - this doesn't happen with ranged or force attacks. Only in melee, and when the corpse of the enemy seems to fall on my character. Then the movement problem has a chance of occuring. Also, movement by pressing right+left mouse buttons doesn't work for the affected character.
TheExile
Wait... I think that happened to me before... But I got around it by changing party leader, then walking around so the character will follow me and thus get out of the place where he got sticked... Then all was normal... But that was because of a mod and I deleted it... But try doing that.
DarthParametric
I had that problem in K1 the other day when testing out the Mission reskin mod I was doing. Revan would occasionally stop responding to movement via direct input (i.e. keyboard or both mouse buttons) but would still move if you clicked on a door or crate or initiated combat. Just like TheExile, to get around it I switched to another party member until transitioning to another module. Once in the new module direct input movement for Revan would be restored (until it screwed up again). That was on my laptop (2GHz Core2Duo, Geforce 7600, 1GB RAM, XP Pro). Interestingly, I didn't notice it when testing out a revision of the mod yesterday on a crappy old box I have laying around (Pentium 4, 768MB RAM, Radeon 9250, XP Pro), although in that test I only got as far as Taris Undercity, whereas on the laptop I played through until captured by the Leviathan. Possibly it only started appearing once I reached Dantooine, but I can't really remember for sure.
Christos K
I think it has to do with Vista and how it consumes so much RAM at a time.
DarthParametric
Happened to me on XP so I doubt that is it.
