Jay5J
Hello, Well heres my story, ----[Vista 32bit]---- I installed my Grim Fandango game with no problems, Then I started to play and noticed that there were a lot of game crashes so I decided to look for answers that led me to this forum. And I saw that I needed to Run the game with a patch, compatibility settings to 98 and Me and administrator on. ---- So. ---- I did all that but there are still game crashes but they aren't random any more its more specific to the part in the beginning when you go in to the elevator that leads to the garage, When I enter it the game just crashes.... and also I cant open the game menu with the [ESC] button. I'd be most grate full if someone could please help me fix the problems, Thanks.
Jay5J
Don't all answer at once, well don't worry about it I managed to fix the problem, and found out that the menu button was F1 instead.
Thrik
What turned out to be the issue? You'll have to excuse the time delay. People aren't as quick to respond so many years after the game came out.
Mr_Calavera
You know, rather than go through all the headaches people have trying to get old software to run on new operating systems I just keep two machines. I have my primary computer that I'm on now running XP and I have a second computer next to me that runs 98se. So the 98 box runs all my old games and software without the headaches and I have this machine for the new stuff. With old computers going for virtually nothing the only thing that would really be restrictive on this option for some would be lack of space. Just my 2 cents. Mr_Calavera
The original poster no longer was in search of help, he resolved his issue. My contribution was a suggestion for anyone that uses old games and software that wishes not to have the headaches of making them work in a newer operating system. No need to be nasty.
