How closely does this comic tie into the game? Is there a common cast of characters between the two?

Rob Chestney: Yeah, there is. The cool thing about the comic is that it’s set during probably the most critical moment in the history leading up to the game, which is the sacking of Coruscant and the treaty that’s signed thereafter. We’re basically setting up this difficult, painful peace treaty between the Republic and the Empire that really exists up until players enter the game. So it takes place in that time period where that sacking is taking place and that treaty is being signed. We say that it’s more than a decade before the game, but we don’t get too specific because we want to give some sort of leeway for timing.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Wasn't KotOR created to give players that information in game? Why bother playing the game now? There will not be anything more to learn. Excitement behind playing the KotOR series is to learn about previous events. Why spill the beans?

Anticlimatic announcement leads to an anticlimatic game? I don't have a reason to buy this game now. I will already know the missing pieces by reading the online comic. For free.

I worked on the game for my first two or two-and-a-half years here.

Interesting. Means its at least 2,5 years in development. Summer 2006. Very interesting. February 2005 marked the release of Kotor 2, so relatively short afterwards (a year) they decided an MMO should be made, Bioware should do it, and they were hiring writers.

And that's the minimum. This could have been in development before this writer entered.

Joy. :D

mmos take alot of time to do and some say it'll be out in like a year or something but I highly doubt that. Plus you have to account for every possible outcome and all the species to choose on top of it etc.
