FINALLY!

Okay, I didn't really go anywhere, but I moved two weeks ago and finally have my internet back. I had to get DSL because where I live now doesn't have a good cable internet provider. Anywho, it was frustrating trying to get back to the land of waffles... er, the internet.

So, yea, fun story. I called to get service set up just before I moved thinking I would get here and have internet.

Negative.

I called a few days later, only to be told "My screen shows they went out. Hmmm... if you're still having trouble, I'll send a tech out tomorrow."

Tomorrow comes and goes, and when I get home from work, I see my internet is still not working. Anyway, long story short, I put in two or three tickets with my ISP to try to get back online. Every time it's the same story.

"Well, it looks like they are working on it now," or "They checked the lines. Everything should be working on our end."

To which I would reply "Well, it's not working. What the hell?! This is like the tenth time I've called and you keep telling me it's working but it's not! Then you tell me they will come out tomorrow, but they don't!"

So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and figure out what was going on. I don't have a landline phone because I use my cell for everything. So, I ran to Walmart and bought the cheapest one they had for $5 or something. I got home, plugged it in and no dial tone... So, I decided to take the damn box apart that's on the side of my house.

Interestingly, they have a test jack in there to see if you have signal coming into the house or if it's a problem with the wiring inside. Turns out, I wasn't getting a dial tone out there either. So, now I know it is their problem. I call back, explain to them what I did.

"Oh, well, we can send someone out tomorrow. I'll put a 'priority service' note on this and have have the tech call you in the morning."

I let them know, in no uncertain terms how I was tired of hearing the same story over and over, but yea, whatever. It was almost 5pm when I called and apparently the techs all turned off their radios.

Anyway, a little while ago, I get woken up by a call from a tech. He had to climb the pole and splice my lines in. Apparently, this was a different guy than the guy that usually works the area.

The other guy kept going to the wrong house.

So yea, two weeks of fighting with these people comes down to their dispatchers or whomever, giving the wrong address to their techs. This guy apparently figured it out, but the other guy didn't... for two weeks.

He told me his paperwork had the address of two houses down.

Now it's fixed!

Bob is Happy Lion!

WOOF! WOOF! Meow Meow! roar.

Anyway, I'm back, if you even missed me during my short hiatus.

So, now that I've told my story, let's hear yours! Anyone else have a similar story of a customer/tech support nightmare?
