So, the question is: what's the worst tribulation you've passed to show your romantic intentions with someone?

I had to think a little before answering my own question. Surprisingly, my most terrible sacrifice was to memorize a outrageously long poem (it could have been a sonnet, but no, I had to give that other a go, it was her favorite), full of free and blank verses - which, if you're not familiar with this obscure part of Romanticism, makes is harder to remember, since there's a reduced musicality.

 

In the end, it took me three whole weeks to get it all inside my head. The worst part was near the ending, wherein I needed to read and re-read the whole poem just to be sure I wouldn't skip or change any word.

Last year at the height of fuel prices I drove 400 miles to spend one day with my girlfriend. Round trip cost just for fuel and excluding onsite activities: $300.00 Talk about an expensive date. So worth it though.
