Mezmoin
Morning As I play KoToR 2 after combat sometimes I become unable to move with the wsad controls, but I can move around if there is items to select since it still registers with a click. Does anyone Have a fix for this, because it would help if I didnt have to save/load 20 times to do one mission since saving/loading is the only fix that makes the character controlable again through the keyboard. Again any help would be appreicated.
ZimmMaster
If your character is completely frozen, I would first try pressing escape, that is what I do to resolve the character freezing bug with the Skip Peragus mod? If that does not work, I need to know if after you press any of the walk/run direction keys your character is completely frozen or it takes a minute or two to respond and you end up on the other side of the room. Providing this info will help.
Mezmoin
Well it is not a freeze due to hardware, as I dont experience any lag, the problem is one minute I will be walking/run with wsad keys and I will go into combat, after the combat all my functions work, except the wsad keys. I am playing this game plan jane style no mods, no hacks, no cheats. So pretty much my only hot fix that I have fount around this is like I said, to save the game then reload it, and it will get annoying because well, sometimes I have to do it after every fight. Have you updated the game? It also could be a corrupt install. Did anything happen, anything at all happen, to your computer when you were installing the game? I mean anything, a new program start, you had a program open and then closed it, your computer refreshed.
Mezmoin
believe I updated but could be wrong and about the corrupt install, dont think it is that because I already uninstalled reinstalled like 2-3 times.
ZimmMaster
Well, if its updated and not a corrupt install, It might be your computer not having enough resources to keep supporting the keyboard when running the game. I encountered this bug in my old computer. Be sure to close all other programs running in the background. I found out that any type of internet browser really slows it down. If you can't close all programs try running the game at a lower resolution such as 1024x768.
thebradley
I have the exact same problem. It has happened to me with both KOTOR 1 and 2. Im sure its not a hardware issue, might be no cd crack but idk.
Meatpuppet
Try turning on V-Sync. I had the same problem. This fixed it.
Q
Either that, or the Dantooine lag fix: First, figure out where the .ini is installed. Default is "C:\Program Files\Lucasarts\swkotor2\swkotor2.ini". If its not in that location, then your going to have to do some searching around on the hard drive a bit. When you find it, just double-click on the file to open it in Notepad. Scroll down the file until you find the Graphics Options Under the last line ("last line" as in the last line of the list of entries under "Graphics Options", not the last line of "swkotor(2).ini), add "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1", without the quotes. Goto File, then Save. Or both.
