Internet Accelerator?

I use a great download accelerator called FlashGet that dls stuff extremely fast. it uses the whole bandwidth of your connection (you know, the speed the isp told you when they were selling it to you ), and downloads go screaming across at the maximum speeds possible.

 

I was wondering if I could get something like that for not just downloading, but browsing too. Google yielded pages and pages of internet accelerators, and I'm at a loss as to which to choose. (Are there some that are better than others?)

 

So I ask: Do you have any recommendations? Do you use some certain program that you'd swear by that works wonderfully?'

This is usually something people ponder when their browsing habits have surpassed their internet plan. I've been there, tried quite a few apps and in the end simply ended up paying $10 more a month and getting more bandwidth and a faster connection.

 

Apart from using a quicker browser(FF, Chrome, Safari are quickest) optimiser apps do undesirable things like degrade image quality to load things more quickly. In todays internet environment, where so much content is image rich, it makes it hard to truly accelerate things past a certain point.

 

Some more common sense tips to make pages load faster>>

*Use a quick browser

*Ad and popup clocking

*Block flash animations

 

What browser do you use ?? if youre using IE7/8, youre definitely doing yourself an disservice as far as using a quicker browser is concerned

Well, seeing that i'm the one in the family that uses 70% of the monthly cap, i'm not sure i could justify getting the 'rents to spill more dosh just to satisfy my fiendish cravings.

Personally, i use chrome. I used to use FF, but i switched to chrome because it was more stable, and i found it to be faster. on top of that, im the only one that uses it, so i can set it to my preferences. im waiting/hoping chrome is eventually going to be as customizable as FF sometime. (and when are they going to release it for linux??)

 

i thought the int accelerators would tweak some behind the scenes settings like flashget does to get faster speeds. basically, what i was looking for is flashget for browsing.
