Ran the spec survey for my system which is as follows: I run on an AMD 3400 with 2.4ghz, 3 GB of RAM, and an FX7600 Vid card which was the only thing that did not meet recomended specs... rest is below [sWKotOR] ReportDateTime=9/5/2009 11:23:23 AM SysInfoVersion=v1.00.60 GameExists=1 GameVersion=v2.00.424 GameInstallLocation=C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\ [OS] Name=WinXP Version=Windows XP v5.1 build 2600 Service Pack 3 Service Pack=Service Pack 3 Status=Pass [swapFiles] C:\pagefile.sys=2046 [CPU] CPUCount=1 CPUSpeed=2411 CPUFamily=15 CPUModel=12 CPUStepping=0 CPUVendor=AMD CPUName=AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3400+ Status=Pass [Memory] RAM=2048 Status=Pass [Disk Free Space] C: (NTFS), UNICODE=62.59GB E: (FAT32), UNICODE=281.12GB Status=Pass [CD-ROMs] DriveLetters=D:\ Drives=ATAPI DVD A DH20A4P,ATAPI DVD A DH20A4P,HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH22NP20,SONY DVD RW DW-Q28A,SONY DVD RW DW-Q28A [Video] Video Card Name=NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS Video Memory=256 Desktop Resolution=1024x768x32 @ 120Hz DirectX=DirectX 9.0c (4.09.00.0904) OpenGL Version=2.1.2 OpenGL Vendor=NVIDIA Corporation OpenGL Renderer=GeForce 7600 GS/AGP/SSE2/3DNOW! KoTOR runs fine. Any help most gratefully appreciated. Should i try an older driver? i have heard that newer drivers may not work. Should I lower the desktop resolution? I have not installed the patch yet, wanted to see if i could get it running without the patch first, as i had first installed the patch, the movie and sound patches and it would not run, so i thought i would try with no patches first. CrisG
SOLUTION: scanning the forum here i found this great post from Evil Q in response to a thread from Achillies....about a similar problem, his post is below and it was very very helpful so i wanted to share in case anyone else has the same problem with a similar set up as mine..... he said: "Try entering "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1" under "Graphics Options" in your "swkotor2.ini" file." I did and it worked. I knew about that fix for KoTOR but did not know it applied to TSL too. thanks so much. Works great now i think, at least i get into the character creation and will see how it goes.

CrisG
thanks Jonathan, it is good to know that too, i dont have Vista but may someday:) much appreciated. I will add that to my assembled pack of mods and patches for KoTOR II that I am researching, and it will be a great resource to share with those who are in need, i see there are already 47,000 downloads so it must be working well. thanks again for sharing that.
