Pasow
I've had this problem every time that i try to run KOTOR on Windows 7 x64 systems there's all ways the same problem. the screens doing some sort of funky flickering. i can see through objects, but also see them. I've tried all of the Vista fixes and have reinstalled the game. ive noticed that ive got the same problem with all older OpenGL games, but forcing the reported OGL version back to something like 1.4 doesn't make a difference. i would post a link to a video, however when doing a screen recording it displayed normally without any problems... hard system numbers (actual) 4GB of RAM Nvidia GeForceG 105 512MB the Drivers are HP junk (Nvidia wouldn't let me update) the rest of the numbers below are correct. here's the KOTOR system debug what ever its called (it reports XP because its set in compatibility mode...) Q
Have you tried the Dantooine lag fix? First, figure out where the .ini is installed. Default is "C:\Program Files\Lucasarts\swkotor(2)\swkotor(2).ini". If its not in that location, then your going to have to do some searching around on the hard drive a bit. When you find it, just double-click on the file to open it in Notepad. Scroll down the file until you find the Graphics Options Under the last line ("last line" as in the last line of the list of entries under "Graphics Options", NOT the last line of "swkotor(2).ini), add "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1", without the quotes. Goto File, then Save. You're also going to want to set CPU affinity to a single core ever time you launch the game: After starting the game, press Ctrl-Shift-Esc to bring up the task manager. Right-click "Knights of the Old Republic" under the applications list and select "Go to process." Right click on the highlighted process (probably something like kotor.exe) and select "Set Affinity..." In the dialog box that comes up, deselect all but one core. Then return to the game and see what happens ^/_\^ Just remember that you'll need to do this every time you start the game.
Pasow
all ready had done the Vertex Buffer stuff, and Windows wont let me in to the dialog for the affinity. in Nhancer Ive forced this game to run on 1 core though... what it is is that ive got something that's not movign correctly between the fraim buffer on the card and the screen. ive recorded video using Xfire of me playing it just now, and it is recorded with out the flicker i get. when ive gotten the frame rate close to 115 FPS i've managed to nearly stall the larg black bar on the screen. nothign els shows up directly under the bar. i've actually got this problem will all older OGL games on this computer... so it may just be the bios or somthing related to that rather than the game...
