JuniorModder Posted October 31, 2009 Share Posted October 31, 2009 Hey guys! R9-PE is a character in my mod: The New Jedi Order. I renamed him to C5-PE because C5 sounds better than R9. He is a sensor droid. I originally had my character Helayna, build him before either join your party. But, I thought that she was too similar to Bao-Dur. logan23 Posted October 31, 2009 Share Posted October 31, 2009 If the PC builds the droid you must create a purpose to why you would build a protocol droid since he does not have much for attack animations. I like the idea of building the droid but i would have the finished droid = a move forward in the story or open the quest that allows the main plot to go forward or open a large sidequest that touches on the PC or the Jedi Order. Logan B1-D1 is the protocol droid. I knew that the protocol droid didn't have very good attack animations, so I decided to give him other abilities. But C5, is not a protocol droid. Although, she finds a few pieces that she just can't put together. So, if the PC's repair skill is high enough, he/she will have to repair him. But, you should also make it so, if the PC's repair isn't high enough, he/she can fail to repair him and he will have to sit there until a later date. When the PC's repair is high enough. Repairing HK was in TSL. Or you would have to buy some extra pieces from various merchants. But C5 has to be finished at some point in the game. I have been thinking of a lot of things and problems with C5. Well C5 plays an important role, Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) when the party is captured by a sith ship, C5 goes and shuts off the force cages. Not having him would have major issues. I think that perhaps Helayna should be nothing more than a friend of C5, because I can't think of a reason that Helayna would join the party if your evil. But you could script it to where if he was found, he would need some serious repair to work properly (In other words he would be functioning halfway when found). And of course the PC would need to find the parts for Helayna to totally repair him and so on. As for one other reason to repair him to be fully functional: He could have the ability to tap-in or access a computer terminal (once he's operarating properly) on a ship or some planet that the PC goes or needs to go to in one mission, in order to obtain important info that is required for another mission . But you could possibly link that important reason to all the events in your mod together, the side missions, the main mission, the small quests, etc. Anyway, just another idea for you.
