Astrotoy7
I just finished watching the series and 'The Plan'. I haven't seen the 'Razor' movie yet but I don't think it has a huge bearing on the stuff that seems missing from the finale. Whilst I understand how the writers arrived at that conclusion to the story, I personally think it was really weird that all of the remnants of humanity accepted to revert to such a primitive lifestyle, and took it upon themselves to teach their language and mate with the nomads I can understand how *some* may have wanted to do that, but all - and no one was left with a choice to keep some ships/tech up there?? Finally, what the hell is Kara, I was hoping that was clarified - who sent her etc? Before her ship originally exploded/disappeared, she said ''theyre waiting for me.'' Who? And what about the 7th Cylon, Daniel?? Is that Kara's dad, the piano guy?? I hope they clear all that stuff up in a subsequent movie. It's weak when writers make characters vanish off the screen and let us think they are just spirits or an angel...... ugh Why does 'spirit' Baltar refer to God as a he.. Is he referring to himself? I really dont understand why those 'in my head/angel' characters were there at all. If they were planted there by someone else, it would have been nice. I guess this comes from my disinterest in the supernaturnal aspect of the divine.... I'm sure others liked the whole religious element of the show, I tried to forget about it and concentrate on the robots and spaceships and Caprica... ZZzzzzz... OK, a tad interesting, but if that lasts more than 2 seasons it will be very suprising (ratings have already plummeted by ep3). You cant have a show that is associated with BSG and have the most riveting action scene being Eric Stoltz getting beat up by a Latino dude(Tauron/whatever) behind a dumpster. They should have gone with a show about the first cylon war IMO ,or left the end of the finale open enough for some follow up - like Trek next gen. 'The Plan' was great, I liked seeing what the cylons were up to RIP BSG Franchise. The way Caprica is going, apart from another TV Movie set during the series like 'The Plan', BSG is pretty much over. It was good while it lasted I guess. Seems like the only live action 'space show' left is SG Universe, which I haven't seen yet personally. Hopefully GL wont be too long with the SW live series mtfbwya
Darth InSidious
I guess this comes from my disinterest in the supernaturnal aspect of the divine.... Nah, it didn't look that good to me, either. Particularly the way Starbuck's exit was handled. I didn't mind so much the "angels", and I can accept keeping some questions unanswered, but there's a difference between that and making a character disappear into thin air. In works of fiction, though, I generally prefer a bit more resolution than that. Particularly in such a minor thread.
Ghost
IMO, Kara became extremely poor wrote in S4 and S3. In S1 and 2, she was so badass, it was like that lady from Alien. I wasn't surprised when the writes just had Kara disappear in the last episode, but I wasn't pleased. They left so many questions out there in the wild. What is Kara. If she is an angel I would be highly disappointed, although the imaginary Baltar and Caprica kind of makes sense, especially in the ending. I think Baltar may have been God, because of the way he was acting, but we know nothing until they release something. On the throwing away technology, I think it makes sense, because if they didn't, then we wouldn't really be exactly where we are. Plus they wanted to stay there, and not become a target for any survivors of the Real Cylons, I mean the Cavils and stuff. So that that's my response on that. If they are to make a sequel to the series, let it be when it is, for right now, RIP BSG. OhThe Plan was an excellent conclusion to the series, IMO
Astrotoy7
In works of fiction, though, I generally prefer a bit more resolution than that... It's even worse when they do it in written fiction! Within a sentence, the last hundred/thousand etc pages could have been all for naught because it was in their head/in a dream etc. If instead I was reading BSG - a story arc that could cover at least 20 books, and it said, Lee turned to face Kara... but she was gone. It'd make me want to break my kindle, if I had one Plus they wanted to stay there, and not become a target for any survivors of the Real Cylons, I mean the Cavils and stuff.... IIRC The Cylons only detected the fleet near New Caprica because of the nuclear device the tortured six detonated on Cloud 9. Also, if there were any 'evil' Model Ones still out there(as opposed to the more lenient Cavil), they wouldn't care whether the humans had tech or not, as extermination/revenge seemed to be the only thing they were interested in. As seen in The Plan, he went to his death still filled with the hatin' Also, did anyone notice the final scene with Hera - she quickly looks into the sky as if she's seen something .. later when 'Angel' Baltar and Six are roaming around in New York, we see the news report talking about the skeleton of the young lady who they are calling 'Mitochondrial Eve.' From what Baltar said (Eve's mother was cylon, and father a human), 'Eve' must be Hera and has died while still young? Damn loose threads mtfbwya
